Jonathan Gruber Spills the Beans on Health Care

Jonathan Gruber has become the “face” of the debacle of Obamacare since he has been identified as its author. Unlike Edward Snowden, who exposed the extent and depth of NSA spying and became the “gift that keeps on giving,” Gruber has become the “nightmare on health care mandate” as more and more information surfaces that proves what a sham this unconstitutional law is.

In 2009, Jonathan Gruber stated the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare would not be affordable when he was writing that bill in conjunction with the White House. Continuing to withhold documents, Gruber is awaiting a call back in order to continue testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee next year. However, new information has surfaced indicating that Gruber himself indicated that Obamacare would not be affordable and had no cost controls as evidenced in an October 2009 policy briefing. It has already been established that Gruber counseled Obama in the Oval Office and served on the Presidential Transition Team. So, while Obama claimed to the public their premiums would go down, he knew for a fact the premiums would not.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Gruber admitted in the 2009 briefing that “you can’t mandate insurance that’s not affordable” and that it would be a major issue.

In his brief, Gruber contended:

“So what’s different this time? Why are we closer than we’ve been before? Because there are no cost controls in these proposals. Because this bill’s about coverage. Which is good! Why should we hold 48 million people hostage to the fact that we don’t know yet how to control costs in a politically acceptable way? Let’s get the people covered and then let’s do cost control.”

So, as every American should be able to discern, government has played politics with your health through the health care insurance mandate.

Gruber’s idea of cost control is – you guessed it – effectively denying treatments.

From Gruber’s October 2009 briefing:

“The real substance of cost control is all about a single thing: telling patients they can’t have something they want. It’s about telling patients, ‘That surgery doesn’t do any good, so if you want it you have to pay the full cost.”

“There’s no reason why the American health care system can’t be, ‘You can have whatever you want, you just have to pay for it.’ That’s what we do in other walks of life. We don’t say everyone has to have a large screen TV. If you want a large screen TV, you have to pay for it. Basically the notion would be to move to a level where everyone has a solid basic insurance level of coverage. Above that people pay on their own, without tax subsidized dollars, to buy a higher level of coverage.”

There you have it folks. The coverage for health care services via insurance and services covered under that insurance is being compared to a large screen TV. It’s okay if you want it, but don’t expect your insurance to pay for it. If we determine it “doesn’t do any good,” you can have it if you pay for it yourself.

All the while Obama was denying this and spewing bile to the contrary, he absolutely knew this health care bill – his legacy – would do nothing to control costs according to Jonathan Gruber. Obama knew what was in that bill and sold a tainted bill of goods to the public.

Going one step further, Congress also had to know when they passed it or at least some members knew. But, according to Nancy Pelosi, “we have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” Even after passing it, they still don’t know what’s in it or if they do, refuse to follow up on their debacle. Members of Congress knew what was in that bill.

Gruber stated in a San Francisco 2012 podcast:

“I wish that President Obama could have stood up and said, ‘You know, I don’t know if this bill is going to control costs. It might, it might not. We’re doing our best. But let me tell you what it’s going to do …” (goes on to explain that some people would die without insurance)

“If he could make that speech? Instead, he says, ‘I’m going to pass a bill that will lower your health care costs.’ That sells. Now, I wish the world was different. I wish people cared about the 50 million uninsured in America… But, you know, they don’t. And I think, once again, I’m amazed politically that we got this bill through.”

“I mean, we actually asked many politicians to vote against their self-interest. Against what their constituents were telling them, to really do the right thing. And I think they deserve our support and applause for doing that.”

Gruber even recommended in the podcast that people not actually read the health care law.

Obama played the role of the seedy used car salesman pitching a lemon to a customer by calling it a Cadillac. He interchanged “health care costs” in place of “health care insurance,” making them appear similar in order to “affect a sale” and “seal the deal.” They are not as they are different. Of course, according to Gruber, American’s are so stupid they would buy it.

As it turns out, many Americans were not that stupid. Obama and crew “asked” politicians to vote against what constituents were urging their representatives in Washington to do. While Gruber may contend all they did was ask, one can bet it centered more around bribed, cajoled, coerced, or extorted.

Gruber claimed that Americans do not care about the 50 million uninsured individuals in this country.

Out of those 50 million uninsured, how many do not want to purchase health care insurance? After all, insurance was a choice. Some chose not to purchase insurance, which, up until now, they were free to make that choice. Others chose different methods to cover their healthcare costs instead of an “insurance” plan. Again, they were free to do so; but, no longer are Americans free to choose. The question on everyone’s mind is, “how many of this 50 million are illegal aliens?”

This video provided through the Daily Caller shows Gruber explaining how politics is being played out in state exchanges through this health care bill with the cooperation of the states.

While many argued against the pitfalls of this unconstitutional bill, not only because it was unconstitutional but because it held regulations detrimental to all Americans and freedom, those voices were drowned with unsavory name-calling, derisive labeling, and the over-all catch-all of “racism.” Even though it has been exposed that Obama lied, Congress lied, and this “health care bill” is nothing more than legalized genocide without firing a shot through rationing of care, some stubborn Americans still support its tenets.

Unfortunately, they will continue to support it until they or some beloved family member need some treatment that will be denied by the government bureaucratic panel based on cost. Of course, these people can still get that treatment as long as they pay out of pocket for it, which means paying full price. These hard-headed Americans will continue to buy the lemon thinking it’s a Cadillac until it breaks down and becomes too costly for them, which all indicators suggest that is coming in a few years. These same individuals will take the stance of “suck it up, buttercup” until it hits them square between the eyes. No one will have to say “I told you so” because they will know it whether or not they say it.

Those Americans who are awake and recognized this “legislation” for what it would do will receive no vindication in being alert enough to see through the Washington haze of lies, corruption and deceit. No repeal is coming and neither is nullification through the states.

The minority of Americans have spoken and won a victory in their own lies. They care not that Obama lied, members of Congress were bribed, cajoled, coerced, extorted, or “asked” to go against the majority of constituents who were against this bill, nor did they care that the only cost control method in this whole debacle would be legalized genocide. All they cared about was getting something for what they perceived was nothing.

As so oft is heard, “everything has a price.” So, what price did the minority of Americans place on the majority? Unfortunately, only time will tell. But, one thing is for certain. The only ones who will remain unscathed will be those elite politicians sitting in DC, along with all those federal workers inside the Beltway and the “favored few,” which will not be the minority used to inflict this atrocity onto the entire citizenry. If history is any indication, the “favored” minority used to achieve the goal of an agenda will be discarded into the ranks of the “unfavored” when their usefulness is no longer needed.
