After Outcry, Muslim Call to Prayer from Duke Chapel Bell Tower will not Happen, But…

Earlier this week, it was reported that Duke University would be allowing a Muslim call to prayer from the campus chapel bell tower. Now, the Methodist and Quaker founded University has reversed its decision following a huge outcry, but the reason and the reaction of Duke demonstrates further capitulation to Islam.

The decision by Duke was spoken out against by Franklin Graham. “As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism,” he wrote on Facebook. “I call on the donors and alumni to withhold their support from Duke until this policy is reversed.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The University decided to reverse its decision, but the reasoning may shock some while confirming what many of us have always seen coming.

CNN reports:

Duke University officials on Friday cited security concerns as part of the reason for the school’s reversal of its decision to allow a Muslim call to prayer to sound from a campus chapel bell tower.

Neither the Durham, North Carolina, school nor the local FBI office, which was made aware of the situation at Duke, would specify details of these concerns, but Michael J. Schoenfeld, the university’s vice president of public affairs, said the number and tone of the calls were “pretty loud and nasty.”

“We have heard from a lot of people who have a lot of interesting and important opinions and perspectives on this,” Schoenfeld said.

In a statement Thursday, the school said plans changed because its effort to “unify was not having the intended effect.”

No kidding! Duke is a Christian founded school. What business do they have allowing Muslims? The second question that should be asked is after they let them attend, why should they offer any place for them to hold a call to prayer? The third question that should be answered is why the Muslim Student Association should be allowed to exist on campus which is the education jihad arm of the Muslim Brotherhood?

As Bryan Fischer, Director of Issue Analysis for Government and Public Policy at the American Family Association, points out, “If we believe in the power of prayer, what Duke has done is even more dangerous than it first appears. The Apostle Paul makes it clear in 1 Corinthians 10 that idolatry – the worship of any God other than the one revealed in Scripture – is to dabble in the worship of demons.”

“The spiritual forces behind Islam, as everyone in Paris and the world knows full well by now, are not benign,” Fischer adds. “From a biblical standpoint, prayers offered to Allah are prayers which quite literally summon demons from the abyss. Prayers offered in the name of Jesus invite the presence of God himself onto a college campus. Prayers offered in the name of a counterfeit god will summon something else.”

“They apparently bent to pressure,” said Khalilah Sabra, executive director of the Muslim American Society.

However, Duke didn’t take a stand against Islam. It took its stand and vilified those in opposition to its apostasy and those that are “loud and nasty.” So is Duke getting rid of the Islamic call to prayer? No. It’s merely moving it.

The Seattle Times reports, “Muslims will gather for their call to prayer in a grassy area near the 210-foot gothic tower before heading into a room in the chapel for their weekly prayer service… Schoenfeld… said it would be up to the students if they want to use some sort of amplification.”

“There was considerable traffic and conversation and even a little bit of confusion, both within the campus and certainly outside, about what Duke was doing,” Schoenfeld said. “The purposes and goals and even the facts had been so mischaracterized as to turn it into a divisive situation, not a unifying situation.”

In an email to the Los Angeles Times, Schoenfeld added, “The level of vitriol in calls and messages from those who have no connection to Duke was intense, and even horrifying.”

Apparently, Mr. Schoenfeld is not horrified by a student organization tied to a designated terrorist organization on his campus, nor is he horrified by the history or the ideology this group stands for.

Still foolish students encourage the devils to pray on campus, completely unaware of what they are inviting in their midst.

Perhaps someone should inform Schoenfeld that there is a division between Christianity and Islam. They do not serve the same god and the school should be ashamed of itself for allowing a student organization, tied to the Muslim Brotherhood whose written plans to destroy America from within are documented, to have prayers on its campus in the name of “unity.”

In fact, they would do well to heed the words of the Lord Jesus:

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. –Matthew 10:32-40

Christ came to unite His people, but separate His people from unbelievers. Duke has its priorities backwards.
