Former “Pastor” Rob Bell Goes Full Blown Apostasy – Says the Church Should Embrace What God Calls An Abomination

The false teachers and apostatizers of the Christian faith continue to emerge in America and lead a following after them towards the judgment of God. The most recent evidence of this comes from a false teacher who is not new to heresy. Rob Bell and his wife have now endorsed the abomination of sodomy, claiming that the Church is “just moments away from accepting” the redefinition of marriage to include God-hating sodomites.

Bell told modern day racist and provocateur Oprah Winfrey that the time is “close” to the Church embracing what God calls an abomination and for which He utterly destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19).

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Bell says that such acceptance of sodomites and redefining marriage by the Church is “inevitable.”

The Christian Post reports:

Bell made the statement during a Valentine’s weekend episode of Winfrey’s “Super Soul Sunday” television show where he appeared with his wife, Kristen, to discuss marriage and their new book, The ZimZum of Love: A New Way of Understanding Marriage.

The same-sex marriage discussion portion of the episode, which can be viewed below, starts at around the 29-minute mark where Kristen begins reading an excerpt from the book.

“Marriage, gay and straight, is a gift to the world because the world needs more not less love, fidelity, commitment, devotion and sacrifice,” she noted.

Winfrey then tells the couple that she thought it was great that they made a conscious choice to include gay marriage in the book, and asked them why?

“One of the oldest aches in the bones of humanity is loneliness,” replied Rob Bell. “Loneliness is not good for the world. Whoever you are, gay or straight, it is totally normal, natural and healthy to want someone to go through life with. It’s central to our humanity. We want someone to go on the journey with.”

Friends, how do I say this? This is straight out of Hell, period. There is no “new” way to understand marriage. Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman for life. Anything else is not marriage.

Bell asked when the Church is going to get that loneliness is not good for the world and said that if the Church doesn’t embrace the redefinition of marriage to include the abomination, it will “continue to be even more irrelevant.

The Church has not become irrelevant because it doesn’t embrace a redefining of marriage or acceptance of what is abominable before God. The Church is irrelevant when it takes on the manifestation of what Bell is promoting. After all, Bell is not conforming the world and sinners to the Bible or the image of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:28ff), but the world is conforming him to it. He has, therefore, become the friend of the world and the enemy of God (James 4:4).

Perhaps, if Bell spent more time reading and studying Scripture, he would have offered sodomites the biblical answer concerning loneliness and marriage.

The Bible says,

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. –Gen. 2:18

See that? God saw this issue from the Beginning. Bell is about 6,000 years too late to perceive this issue and definitely behind the eight ball when it comes to the answer.

God provided a solution to the issue of man being alone. He made a helper for him, woman. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. –Gen. 2:20-25

Jesus affirmed 4,000 years after Creation what marriage is and he did not redefine it for the religious hypocrites of the day. In that instance, Christ dealt with their lusts to divorce their wives for any reason (no fault) and marry another woman. Here’s what Jesus said:

And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. –Matt. 19:4-6

See that? Why is there male and female? It’s so that one can be joined with the other to make “one flesh” and not be torn “asunder.” They are to reflect Christ and His Church (Eph. 5:31-32).

The great theologian John Owen once wrote concerning apostasy, pointing out the sensual nature that accompanies it:

God usually in his severity gives them up unto sensual lusts. So he dealt with the idolaters of old: he “gave them up unto vile affections,” Romans 1:26, such as those there described by the apostle; and in the pursuit of them “gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient,” verse 28; whence they were “filled with all unrighteousness,” verse 29. So doth God frequently deal with apostates from the gospel, or from the principal truths of it, unto idolatry and superstition. And when they are engaged in the pursuit of these lusts, especially when they are judicially given up unto them, they are held assuredly, as under cords and chains, unto final impenitency.

God gave such persons up unto Satan, to be blinded, and led by him into pernicious delusions: “Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12. This was the state and condition of the persons here prophesied of. The truth of the gospel was preached unto them, and for some time professed by them. They received the truth; but they received not the love of it, so as to comply with it and improve it unto its proper end. This kept them barren and unfruitful under their profession; for where the truth is not loved, as well as believed or assented unto, it will bring forth no fruit. But this was not all; they had pleasure in their sins, lusts, and unrighteousnesses, resolving not to part with them on any terms. Whereas, therefore, these are all of them absolutely and without limitation judged and condemned by the truth of the gospel, they began to dislike and secretly to hate the truth itself. But whereas, together with their lusts and unrighteousnesses, wherein they had pleasure, they found a necessity of a religion, one or other, or the pretense of some religion or other, to give them countenance against the truth which they rejected, they were in a readiness to anything that should offer itself unto them. In this condition, in the way of punishment, and as a revenge of their horrible ingratitude and contempt of his gospel, God gives them up to the power of Satan, who blinds, deludes, and deceives them with such efficacy as that they shall not only readily embrace, but obstinately believe and adhere to, the lies, errors, and falsehoods that he shall suggest unto them. And this is the way and course whereby so many carnal gospellers are turned off unto Romish idolatry every day.

Other instances of the severity of God on this occasion might be given, but these are fully sufficient to declare the manner of his dealing with such as those described in the text: whence it follows that their renovation unto repentance is impossible; for what hopes or expectations should we have concerning such as God hath utterly forsaken, whom he hath judicially smitten with blindness and hardness of heart, whom he hath given up not only to the power and efficacy of their own lusts and vile affections, but also immediately unto Satan, to be deluded and led captive at his pleasure? In vain shall the repentance of such persons be either expected or endeavored.

And this severity of God ought to be preached and insisted on in the declaration of the gospel.

Rob Bell is an apostate, false teacher. He knows nothing of the grace of God, the gospel (as his “gospel” wants sinner to hang onto sin and just tip their hat towards Jesus for “fire insurance,” something Paul would say was anathema (Gal. 1:8)), sin or marriage. In fact, I often theorize that if such a man promotes the abomination of sodomy, rest assured, he thinks about it in his heart also. Only time will demonstrate whether he will, in fact, act upon it. I, for one, would not be surprised to see Bell engage in such activity.

Yet, no matter who is promoting a damnable teaching such as Bell, the command still goes forth from King Jesus to repent of sin and obey God; for God did not send His Only Begotten Son to die in the place of sinners to let them wallow in their sins, but to save them from their sins (Matt. 1:21).
