You Reap What You Sow!

Did you know, that when you are kind to people they will be kind back? Or at least you hope that they will.

Let me ask you, what is a real friend? True friends are hard to come by. There are those who add to your life. There are those who take away from your life. There are also those who will subtract from or multiply to your life.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Always make sure that your friend’s influence is a good influence not a bad one (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Here is the main thing about making friends. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:24, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Be the kind of friend that you would want to have. Show kindness, demonstrate love (I John 3:18), and correct them when you see that correction needs to be shown. See what kind of people the Lord will send to be added to your life.

Listen to a couple examples of where the act of kindness gets you:

Let’s say it’s freezing cold outside and as you are waiting to get on the bus to go school, there’s a big bon fire outside. Once you get out there, all the students are huddled around it, you barely have enough room, but when you start to get warm there came a boy named James who was freezing cold and didn’t have any room by the fire. You come to him and say, “Here James, you can have my spot. I am pretty much warmed up anyway.”

If you’re saying, “Well I’ve tried that before and it doesn’t work, I do not really have any friends,” then let me give you another example of how to make true friends:

Let’s say, you’re in recess and you’re watching others play baseball and you want to play, but there doesn’t seem to be room for you. Suddenly, a boy, who is playing, comes up to you and says, “Listen, I’ve been playing ball for a while, how about you take my spot for a while I rest.” That’s a good way to make friends.

True friends are friends who are with you through bad times and good times. They are friends who are happy for you if you achieve something and they do not. True friends are also true when they tell you the truth about yourself and correct you when you are wrong.

Give the person that you want to be your friend opportunity after opportunity. Then, when he sees that you are a very, kind person, he will want nothing but to be your good, true friend.
