Sodomy Supporter Receives Legal Demand for Misappropriation of Church Names to Support Sodomy

Following the God and Country event in Jenison, Michigan, in which sodomites, professed churches and city officials all joined hands in protesting, there is now a legal demand on the part of Liberty Counsel against one particular sodomy supporter and his misappropriation of church names in support of sodomy.

Daniel VanderLey, CMO, CIO, Co-Founder of Elegus Technologies, a nano-technology company specializing in nanofibres of aramid, engaged in libel and defamation of numerous churches in the Michigan area in order to protest a God and Country event sponsored by Brian Klawiter of Dieseltec. Bradlee Dean of the Sons of Liberty and Dave Daubenmire (Coach Dave) joined Klawiter for the event.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Klawiter had been smeared in the media, had his business vandalized and received death threats all because he said he would not tolerate immorality of any kind, including open sodomites in his place of business.

VanderLey had sent out a letter to churches telling them that he would print a sign for them to use to protest if they just provided a person to show up to hold it, or he even offered to have someone hold the sign for the church. He claimed that his idea was and “exercise of Love.” However, he also took the time to point to the hate group known at the Southern Poverty Law Center and their designation of Bradlee Dean as running a “hate-group.” Vanderley said that Dean was coming to Michigan to “preach exclusion and hate.”

While Bradlee did come to preach and recount America’s history, it should be noted that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is exclusive and God does hate those who continue in their sin (Rom. 9:13; Mal 1:3; Ps. 7:11), but as the Second Commandment teaches, “He shows mercy to thousands, to those who love Him and keep His commandments.” (Ex. 20:6)

According to the legal demand that was sent to VanderLey by Richard Mast of Liberty Counsel, he “publicly libeled and defamed numerous Michigan churches by printing and displaying at your event signs with the churches’ names in support of homosexuality, without their permission.”

Due to VanderLey’s behavior, media also picked up the names of the churches, presenting them in a false light as though they supported sodomy.

“You have harmed the churches’ position in the community by falsely implying they support homosexuality and believe it is not sin,” wrote Mast. “You had no authorization to use the churches’ names in this manner in support of your agenda. While the signs you printed stated ‘[Name of Church] Believes In Love,’ your definition of ‘love’ – support for homosexuality and claiming it is not sin – is without Biblical basis, and is not the position of the churches whose names you wrongfully appropriated.”

Mast further explained the difference in real love and the lies that VanderLey was advancing.

“The churches believe in love and truth, as set forth in the Gospel: Jesus Christ died to save sinful human beings from their sin which separates them from God. Sin includes all forms of immorality and sexual sin, including adultery, fornication, and homosexual practice. The Gospel, when received and believed through faith, breaks the bondage of sin, and changes all sinners into new creatures, who are clean in God’s sight. Your wrongful behavior has falsely portrayed the message of the churches.”

He then cited the case of Duran v. Detroit News, Inc (1993) as evidence of VanderLey’s violation of the law of Michigan:

“In order to maintain an action for false-light invasion of privacy, a plaintiff must show that the defendant broadcast to the public in general, or to a large number of people, information that was unreasonable and highly objectionable by attributing to the plaintiff characteristics, conduct, or beliefs that were false and placed the plaintiff in a false position.”

Additionally, Mast pointed out that Early Detection Ctr., PC v. New York Life Ins. Co also specified that the defendant “must have had knowledge or acted in reckless disregard to the falsity of the publicized matter and the false light in which [the plaintiff] would be placed.”

“Your conduct easily meets all elements of this and other torts,” wrote Mast.

Mast has given VanderLey till the end of June to provide a public apology to the churches and a “written retraction utilizing all forms of media in which the unauthorized appropriation was made” naming the churches and seeking their forgiveness. If this is not done, Liberty Counsel will begin to take action against VanderLey under Michigan laws.

My hope is that Mr. Vanderley repents not only of his crimes which Mast cited but also his crimes of sodomy. That too is not just against the law of God, but also against current Michigan laws. May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ grant him such repentance.

Bradlee Dean recently read portions of the letter and commented on it on The Sons of Liberty radio show.
