DC Police Chief Blurts Out the Truth about Gun Laws… Priceless

Washington, DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier, in her confusion, blurted out the truth about the real results of gun laws recently, indicating that they do absolutely nothing to stop criminals from obtaining guns or high capacity magazines.

At a press conference on crime on Thursday, Lanier said that DC had seen “a huge influx, not only in guns in our major cities, but a huge influx in these high capacity magazines.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This was in response to a thirty percent increase in murders over the same number from last year at this time. If the trend continues, it will lead to a six-year high for the city.

The city has gun restrictive so-called “laws” that not only ban high capacity magazines, such as those David Gregory notoriously waved around on national television while in DC, but was never charged for doing so. They also ban magazines that hold over 10 rounds.

However, listen to what Lanier said.

“There’s been a number of changes in gun laws in states all across the United States in the past several years, a number of pushes to purchase these high capacity magazines, for fear that they may not be legally available sometime in the future, and now is it possible that now maybe some of those are making their way to the major cities?” she asked. “We don’t know, but for some reason they are showing up in all major cities.”

I think that is exactly right. When tyrannical governments infringe on the people’s rights, the people are not stupid. They know history, both ours and communist countries when it comes to arms. Yet, when it comes to murder in her city, Lanier seems clueless as to how to stop such crimes.

“Multiple of our offenders involved in the homicides have previous homicides and are recently back in the community,” she said. “So far this year 10 people involved in homicide have had prior homicide charges. Ten.”

I’ve got a solution for that Ms. Lanier. It’s called the death penalty. When these people commit murder, you put them down for good. You don’t wait years and years. You execute them for their crimes. Then you don’t have to worry about infringing their rights or anyone else’s. You don’t have to worry about releasing them, except to the morgue; and you don’t have to worry about them committing another crime against another human being ever again.

Not only does DC have a law prohibiting felons from owning or possessing guns, but federal law does as well, in clear violation of the Second Amendment. However, Lanier just told everyone that these laws don’t seem to work with criminals.

“What we’re seeing is violent offenders that are committing shootings and homicides that have multiple violent offenses,” Lanier said. “The number of guns recovered this year and last year are both up.”

That’s what those who agree with the Second Amendment have been trying to tell these people. Yet, they seem astonished that words don’t stop criminals.

So, Lanier confesses that government does not do its job by executing justice upon evildoers (murderers and other felons), but rather releases them onto the streets to commit more crimes. All the while, DC’s “may issue” handgun policy restricts law-abiding citizens access to the very weapons that could save their lives in a moment of self-defense from these criminals.

While the city continues court battles to maintain the unconstitutional laws, the citizens of the city continue to be at the mercy of criminals because of Marxist legislators… and the death toll is increasing.
