Does It Appear to you that Every Excuse is now being raised to let Hillary Clinton off the Hook?

I have to tell you that I’m not impressed, nor surprised, at that tough talk of Hillary Clinton coming under investigation and prosecution during a Donald Trump presidency. The tell-tale signs are coming through a plethora of comments by several people, including Trump himself, as Congress looks to get its hands on 650,000 Clinton emails, which we know they will do absolutely nothing with except use them for political banter.

“I don’t want to hurt them,” Trump told Leslie Stahl of CBS’ 60 Minutes. “I don’t want to hurt them. They’re, they’re good people. I don’t want to hurt them.”

To be fair, thought Trump didn’t really give an answer to Stahl, he did promise he would give her a “very good and definitive answer” to the question in the next interview. Still, it raises the question, was he not providing a “good and definitive answer” on the campaign trail and a genuine promise people could trust or was that just political banter to win votes?

Now, immediately, many people are already saying, “But Tim, he isn’t in the White House yet. You can’t tell till he gets there.” I simply respond by saying that the man promised a special prosecutor and he even acknowledged she did “bad things” in that interview. You don’t immediately start going soft when your main job as president is the chief executive law enforcer, it’s not all this other stuff that gets bantered on the campaign trail. In fact, most of the stuff on the campaign trail is part of Congress’ authority if it even applies to them, not that of the president. Much that is promised isn’t even constitutional in America’s central government.

However, Trump is not the only one indicating this. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was asked on ABC News’ “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos whether or not he thought Trump would go through with appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton.

Instead of really dealing with Clinton, Giuliani targeted the Clinton Foundation.

“As a lawyer, I hate to use the ‘on the one hand, but the other,’ but on the one hand, you don’t want to disrupt the nation with what might look like a vindictive prosecution, even though it might not be,” Giuliani said.

“On the other hand, you want equal justice under the law and if she has violated the law – you know, the FBI never completed the foundation investigation,” he continued. “That’s, as far as I know, that’s still an ongoing investigation. They completed the email investigation, but not the foundation investigation.”

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest spoke during a November 9, 2016 press conference as to whether or not Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah would be considering granting Hillary Clinton a pardon before he leave office. After all, he’s already been pardoning convicted criminals and is being petitioned to issue pardons for 750,000 illegal aliens.

“The president has offered clemency to a substantial number of Americans who were previously serving time in federal prisons, and we didn’t talk in advance about the president’s plans to offer clemency to any of those individuals,” Earnest said. “And it’s because we don’t talk about the president’s thinking, particularly with respect to any specific cases that may apply to pardons or commutations.”

He went on to say that he hoped President-elect Trump would not pursue prosecution of Clinton after he takes office.

“We have a long tradition in this country of not – of people in power not using the criminal justice system to exact political revenge. In fact, we go to great lengths to insulate our criminal justice system from partisan politics,” Earnest said. “And that commitment has served our country very well for more than two centuries, and the president is hopeful that it will continue.”

Really Mr. Earnest? Is that what has been going on during the entire investigation of the illegal arms trafficking to Mexican drug cartels known as Operation Fast and Furious, which led to hundreds of deaths? Is that what was going on during this entire Clinton emails scandal? Where was the Justice Department in the IRS targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups? Right, I call BS on Earnest’s statement here, and I’m starting to smell more of it in this promise to prosecute Hillary Clinton. So, when it doesn’t come to pass America, don’t say you weren’t told.
