Baltimore: No Rest for the Wicked… Or the Good

“The law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers…” – 1 Timothy 1:9

Murder and mayhem are exploding in our major cities, and Baltimore is at the top of the heap.

Cities like Chicago, New York City, St. Louis – and particularly Baltimore – are fast becoming war zones. Baltimore’s descent into hell has followed a predictable course since the death of black drug dealer, Freddie Gray, following an arrest.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Murder rates have soared to their highest levels in 15 years. Residents are barricading their doors. Some say there are virtually no police in the streets since the riots. Others have compared parts of the city to the Wild West. Indeed, arrests are down in Baltimore almost 50 percent from last year.

In the wake of Gray’s death, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake ordered the police to stand down in the face of angry rioters, resulting in injuries to police officers and major property damage.

Baltimore State Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby offered six officers up to the angry mob, which only inflamed the situation and signaled to the police that they’ve become the suspects.

Now, police are being hounded, surrounded and videotaped while attempting to perform routine stops and arrests.

The president of the Baltimore Police Union, Lt. Gene Ryan, said Thursday: “Criminals feel empowered now. There is no respect. Police are under siege in every quarter.”

Lt. Ryan also indicated that cops have been thrown under the bus: “They are more afraid of going to jail for doing their jobs properly than they are of getting shot on duty,” he said.

Lt. Kenneth Butler, a 29-year veteran and president of the Vanguard Justice Society, a nonprofit organization that assists Baltimore’s minority officers, was a recent guest on my radio show and agreed with Lt. Ryan’s assessment.

Both men said that black Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts apologized to officers at a recent union meeting for poor leadership during the rioting, though Batts later denied he apologized for that reason, saying he was apologizing for deficiencies in police training.

Ironically, some Baltimore residents are now complaining that police are not doing enough to protect them! Do they really expect police to absorb endless abuse, and not have that affect their desire to do their jobs?

I’ve often said that when I become president, my first order will be to pull white cops out of the inner cities, so the black residents there can see what it’s like to live without them!

Lawlessness comes to the forefront when we lack consciousness. Now that Mayor Rawlings-Blake, State Prosecutor Mosby, Commissioner Batts and others have cut the police off at the knees, there is very little law enforcement left in Baltimore and, therefore, nothing to stop the lawless.

When Moses ascended Mt. Sinai to transcribe the Ten Commandments, he left a vacuum of moral authority. The Israelites lost control and worshipped a golden calf. Baltimore troublemakers are now worshipping their own golden calf.

Blacks in Baltimore and other major cities are not suffering because of police brutality, “institutional (i.e.: white) racism,” or lack of resources. (The federal government has sunk hundreds of millions into the city with disastrous results.)

No, most black Americans are suffering due to the lack of consciousness – moral character. John Adams said that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” God help us.

Chaos as a strategy

Situations don’t happen by accident, and the corruption in Baltimore is being encouraged by Barack Obama.

Obama is encouraging the chaos in cities like Baltimore by fanning the flames of racial division, then indicating that the system is racist and needs an overhaul. What kind of overhaul? More federal control, with body cameras on the police (but not the criminals), and the redistribution of power from whites to (corrupt) blacks.

Obama is implementing a state and local strategy, bypassing Congress. He’s creating an atmosphere where white civic and police leaders feel increasingly uncomfortable. He knows they will leave, to be replaced with black leaders loyal to him and his policies.

As an example, Baltimore Police Commissioner Batts has recently stated that they are bringing in the attorney general, supposedly to help them improve policing.

America has never had someone with so much power (Obama) who’s this wickedly brilliant, and who understands so well how to get his way.

Here’s what’s needed in Baltimore to turn it around:

  1. The mayor, police commissioner and state prosecutor need to publicly apologize to the city’s police officers.
  2. State Prosecutor Mosby needs to recommend the trial for the “Baltimore Six” – the indicted police officers – be relocated to another city to ensure due process is granted them.
  3. The citizens should hold receptions for officers in appreciation for their good work.
  4. Most important, the people of Baltimore must embrace moral character as the prime driver in their lives.

If not, there will be no rest for the wicked – or the good – and the city of Baltimore will be lost.
