Such has become the logical disconnect in our culture that when a minor league baseball team recently tried to help the families of a slain police officer – liberal activists became apoplectic. The Staten Island Yankees recently held an event honoring Wenjian Liu, an NYPD officer who was slain by a black gunman after the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The event was sponsored by Blue Lives Matter NYC, which is a charity for the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, and it was meant to be an opportunity to raise money for the education of the children of the officers who were killed… but it turned into an exhibition of just how hateful and disgusting liberal activists can be.
Not insensitive at all, Staten Island Yankees! pic.twitter.com/rlFZQ5mw9Z

Kirsten Savali, a cultural critic for the Root, an online magazine on African-American culture, said that with this event the baseball team “unapologetically spits” in the face of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“The Staten Island Yankees wanted to send a statement today, and they did: Black lives don’t matter to them or the Yankees organization,” Savali wrote. “On today of all days, they made it clear that not only is baseball ‘America’s Favorite Pastime,’ but it goes hand in hand with the continued dehumanization of black Americans.”
Similarly, Judd Legum, the editor in chief of the liberal blog Think Progress, argued that Blue Lives Matter is insensitive in that it draws attention away from victims of police violence.
Or the terms Blue Lives Matter and All Lives Matter are simply statements meant to remind folks that EVERYONE’S life matters. Yes, black lives matter, but so do white lives and blue lives and polka-dot lives.
How can we move forward as a society when these are the debates liberals want to have and men like Michael Brown have become their heroes? It’s nonsensical. We can’t discuss serious issues because liberals use demagoguery, straw-men, ad hominems and worse. They don’t actually want a serious conversation… they want us to shut up and fall in line.
