Black Friday 2017 Gun Sales Hits Record High

Here’s a stunning statistic. Black Friday 2017 saw the most guns sold than any single day ever before. The previous record came on Black Friday 2016.

Here’s something even more stunning… the number of firearms purchased could arm the United States Marine Corps.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, Black Friday saw the FBI perform the most background checks (associated with gun purchases) they’ve ever done.

The FBI received the most background check requests for gun purchases in a single day on Black Friday.

According to the FBI over 200,000 background check requests for guns were requested this year on Black Friday, which beat the previous single-day high of 185,713 on Black Friday 2016, USA Today reported.

The number comes as Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered a comprehensive review of the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System Wednesday in regards to the deadly Sutherland Springs, Texas, church shooting in early November which left 25 people dead.

The Sutherland Springs church shooter was former Air Force enlisted-man Devin Kelley, who under U.S. law should not have been able to purchase a firearm. Kelley was convicted of domestic violence against his former wife and stepson in 2012. He reportedly beat his wife during that incident and fractured his stepson’s skull.

The main focus of Sessions’s orders to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was to “work with the Department of Defense to identify and resolve any issues with the military’s reporting of convictions and other information relevant to determining prohibited person status under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).”

Friday’s background check requests for gun purchases shows the number of guns attempted to be purchased in the U.S. is rising.

This year’s record-setting day smashed the previous record set last year (also on Black Friday):

USA Today reported that, in total, the FBI states they fielded 203,086 requests during the 24-hour period associated with Black Friday, decimating the previous 2016 record of 185,713.

Interestingly enough, both record days were large enough to arm the United States Marines.

In both 2017 and 2016, enough guns were potentially purchased on Black Friday to arm every active duty Marine.

If you’ll notice, the two numbers combined mean that roughly 400,000 Americans purchased firearms on these two days over the last two years. Interestingly, there are also some 20 states where a background check isn’t necessary if the buyer has a valid concealed carry permit, or firearms license.

What does it all mean? It means that there are a lot of guns in America and there are a lot of gun owners here too.

I’m convinced that more than 1 in 3 Americans have a firearm, and that more than 600 million LEGAL firearms are owned in the US of A.

Which means that if the liberals were right about guns and violence, America would be awash in blood right now. But we’re not… in fact, the only places suffering from gun violence in America are the localities where legal guns are hard to come by. It’s strange how that works, isn’t it?
