Black Lives Matter Attorney Calls for Dismantling of Police

As usual, the black community, more specifically “Black Lives Matter,” jumped on the bandwagon of supporting criminal thugs Alton Sterling and Philando Castile before full disclosure of facts from an investigation. It was the same with the Michael Brown and Freddie Gray incidences in Ferguson, MO, and Baltimore, MD. False narratives flooded the news media and stuck despite evidence showing the initial narratives as false. In the aftermath, rioters gathered in Dallas, TX, and an individual associated with the BLM groups opened fire on police officers there.

The rhetoric from BLM and their supporters only gets worse as the days go by. In fact, a California State University, Los Angeles professor, who has worked as an attorney for “Black Lives Matter” protestors, called for the dismantling and defunding of police departments across the nation. Nana Gyamfi stated in an interview over the weekend that she is not concerned at all with “blue lives” and “wants the police to be dismantled and abolished.” In the interview with California radio station KPPC, Gyamfi stated she sees the police as “part of the state and part of state sanctioned violence” against her people.

The full interview can be heard here. The pertinent highlights follow.

Host: The identity of one suspect was revealed this morning. His name is Micah Xavier Johnson.  He told officers that he was not affiliated with any groups, but he did speak about Black Lives Matter. What’s your reaction this morning?

Gyamfi: First of all, I take everything the police say with a grain of salt when I don’t have a live body to tell me what they actually said. I’m not taking it as the word of God that this is what was said to these officers, but beyond that, as someone who has worked with the Black Lives Matter and represented folks with Black Lives Matter, this is not the type of behavior that Black Lives Matter movement members engage in. My reaction is that we need to continue to stay focused, that we need to continue to be a movement that is not distracted, and that the movement will not be distracted by the actions of individuals, especially those that are not associated with the movement.

Host: Movements like Black Lives Matter have led people to counter with “Police Lives Matter” or “Blue Lives Matter.” How do people come together when so many seem to think that accepting one mantra means rejecting the other? Can you be both?

Gyamfi: I can’t answer that question for individuals, right? It depends on what perspective you’re coming from. From the perspective that I come from, and I don’t speak for Black Lives Matter, I see the police as part of the state and part of state sanctioned violence against our people, and so for me, I’m not concerned about blue lives, I’m concerned about black lives. In fact, I want the police to be abolished. I think we should be pushing the police out of our community. I think that we should be defunding the police. I think that we should be demilitarizing the police and finally dismantling the police. For me, there’s not even a discussion about Blue Lives Matter –

Host: Nana, I need to ask you, though, you want to defund the police — how would you suggest we keep order in society without the police?

Gyamfi: Well, I suggest we keep order by doing what we did before we had the influx of crack cocaine and other ills that caused us to call the police in. There was a time when black people didn’t call police into the community…

That solves everything – abolish and defund the police. NOT!

Gyamfi operates from the perspective that “all police officials lie” as evidenced by the statement, “I take everything the police say with a grain of salt when I don’t have a live body to tell me what they actually said. I’m not taking it as the word of God that this is what was said to these officers…” Yet, this “professor” accepts the lies of “Black Lives Matter” after the accounts of the incidences are proven false. While calling all police officials liars, Gyamfi supports Black Lives Matter liars. Here’s a stellar idea – before interjecting opinion and spreading lies, wait for the official investigation to be concluded, then review the official report against other evidence, such as videos.

Gyamfi, speaking about the actions of shooter Micah Johnson, claims, “This is not the type of behavior that Black Lives Matter movement members engage in.” But, it is the type of behavior the “movement members” call out to happen when they chant, “Kill the pigs, now,” and “F*** the police.” To say it is not behavior they engage in is slicing hairs when video evidence shows these groups engaging in rioting, violent behavior against bystanders, destruction of private property, looting of businesses, and assaulting police officers. Those behaviors are crimes that are condoned by BLM members and activists. Why would the public think the call for “offing” police officers not be perpetrated by BLM when other crimes are condoned and “justified” through liberal logic?

In fact, liberal tool jerks wrongly accuse GOP presidential nominee contender Donald Trump of inciting violence. Yet, BLM members, chanting for the murder of law enforcement officers, have not been held accountable for inciting the murderous rampage of one Micah Johnson. Hypocrisy at its best.

Gyamfi is unconcerned with blue lives even when many blue lives happen to be black. Her answer to this perceived “problem” is abolishing the police and keep police from entering black communities. After all, it is the police who are the problem, not out of control black individuals who engage in criminal activity terrorizing entire neighborhoods and innocent community members. It’s not the fault of the black community that blacks bring crack and cocaine into their own neighborhoods. It’s not the fault of the black community who have ceased teaching their children proper manners and behavior when interacting with those in authority positions or law enforcement or the public in general. It’s not the fault of the black community who have celebrated the “thug criminal” lifestyle, went along with the Democrat promoted destruction of the family unit, responded positively to the eugenics of blacks through murder of babies in the womb, turned their backs on black on black murder and crime, and protected the criminal element in their communities by refusing to speak out against thugs and criminals due to some perverted “anti-snitch” code.

The black community is not at fault, per Gyamfi. It is the police, white as well as black officers. For someone who is an attorney that should deal in facts, Gyamfi deals in fantasy and lies. In fact, her track record with the California Bar is riddled with disciplinary action. Birds of a feather as they say.

She isn’t the only one to call for defunding police departments. In fact, Breanna Champion, leader of the Black Youth Project, appeared on MSNBC last year and called for defunding of police departments. The money used to fund police would instead be spent on “fund[ing] black futures and be used to fund our communities and things that we need.”

There is nothing preventing the black community from helping itself to stem the tide of crime in their own neighborhoods. It’s easier to blame police and call for the dismantling of law enforcement than blame the failings of the community as a whole.

What is so bad about all of this is these people actually believe what they are saying. Their logic in believing that no police in their communities and pouring money into the communities will “fix” the problem is the epitome of missing the forest for the trees. The “fix” to the problem is recognizing a problem exists in the black community. When the black community decides to stop taking the “victim” role, blaming whites and police, and take responsibility for the problems in their own community that have been perpetuated by their own actions, the situation will change. Until then, the status quo will remain.
