A Christian man was murdered by violent Muslims in Pakistan after he married a woman who had converted from Islam to Christianity.
Aleem Masih married Nadia last year after she converted to Christianity. Soon after their marriage Nadia’s Muslim family decided to take revenge for their daughter’s betrayal. The couple went into hiding but was eventually found by their in-laws, who kidnapped the couple before shooting them and leaving them for dead. While Aleem died from his wounds, his wife Nadia survived and is once again living in hiding, fearing for her life.
The couple had petitioned the Pakistani government for protection from Nadia’s family, but it was all for naught. On July 30th, Nadia’s family received a tip about where the couple would be later that day. They then kidnapped the couple and took them to a nearby farm where they would eventually murder Aleem.
Aneeqa Maria of the Voice Society told Nadia’s story to Morning Star News.
“The Muslim men first brutally tortured the couple with fists and kicks and then thrice shot Aleem Masih – one bullet hit him in his ankle, the second in the ribs while the third targeted his face. Nadia was shot in the abdomen.”
The violent Muslim attackers left the couple to die, thinking they had accomplished their evil deed.
“The attackers returned to their village and publicly proclaimed that they had avenged their humiliation and restored the pride of the Muslims by killing the couple in cold blood. Nadia’s brother, Azhar, then presented himself before the police and confessed to having killed his sister and her Christian husband.”
But his sister wasn’t dead.
“She was shifted to the General Hospital in Lahore, where she is fighting for her life after a major operation in which two bullets were removed from her abdomen.”
When Aneeqa Maria arrived at the hospital to visit with Nadia there was a large number of angry Muslims gathered outside pressuring police to hand Nadia over to her family.
“The mob, some of them armed with weapons, was shouting furious anti-Christian slogans. They were also praising Azhar for restoring the pride of the Muslim Ummah [community] and saying that he had earned his place in paradise for killing an ‘infidel.'”
Maria said that the same thing happened later at the police station where a large Muslim crowd had gathered to pressure for the release of the murderous villains. Now supporters of the family have taken to threatening Nadia’s lawyer and her team as they try to find justice for Aleem and Nadia.
I pointed out to an angry reader recently that we do not condemn all Muslims for the actions of a few, but actions like these in Pakistan are all too common throughout the Muslim world. There comes a point when even the most ardent liberal must face the facts and realize that Islam cultivates and breeds this sort of behavior. Through the Quran and Sharia Law, even the average Muslim follower is pushed toward violent action when they believe their religion or their “honor” have been slighted. This is why we argue that Sharia has no place in a Western culture, and it surely has no place in the United States of America.
