Convoy Heads into Oregon Refuge, Including Heavily Armed Vehicles

In a move that took place late today, a caravan of dozens of vehicles headed into the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge this afternoon. Plenty of people continue to stay at the refuge.

Ammon Bundy has issued a statement through his attorney to the remaining occupiers to turn themselves in without using any force. According to news reports, he has asked those still there to go home and hug their families.

“It is the actions and choices of the armed occupiers of the refuge that has led us to where we are today,” FBI special agent in charge Greg Bretzing said earlier Wednesday at a press conference. “Actions are not without consequences.”

As many as five more people are presumed still in the refuge. At least four of them were told they could leave since they did not have warrants out for their arrest.

Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward claims that the occupation has “been tearing our community apart.”

Without going into any details at all about the killing of LaVoy Finicum, Ward added, “I’m disappointed that a traffic stop yesterday that was supposed to bring peaceful resolution to this ended badly,” Ward said.

“There doesn’t have to be bloodshed in our community,” he added.

Yet, though we are seeing video of the scene of the killing and arrests, no one outside of two eyewitnesses have spoken out. The only blood that has been shed has been an American citizen and yet, we have not heard from those making the arrests exactly what happened. Why?

Surely, details will emerge that should prove one way or the other what took place. Until we hear back from the move by the FBI, one wonders if there will not be further loss of life tonight in Oregon.
