Cruz: Trump is Becoming Popular with GOP Establishment

No one can argue with the fact that Donald Trump throwing his hat into the ring to contend for the 2016 GOP presidential candidate nomination has shaken things up. As the field is narrowing in the GOP race, Donald Trump has remained in the top or leading the other candidates in poll results. However, the GOP establishment has appeared to be almost reluctant to fold The Donald into the club. That is changing.

According to Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) theory, the reason everyone is warming up to Trump is Donald will “make deals” in Washington under the guise of conservatism. Several articles here at Freedom Outpost have questioned the move by Donald Trump to align with the GOP and vie for the office of the presidency. There are many who believe that Trump could be a “straight man” to help Hillary Clinton gain the White House. With the atmosphere in the nation today and the distrust that has built between Republicans and the public, nothing would surprise conservatives keeping up with the race. Moreover, it is not beyond a possibility of the hand in hand manner Republicans and Democrats operate.

According to Breitbart, Sen. Ted Cruz had this to say about the GOP establishment warming to Trump.

“We’re seeing something remarkable happening in this Republican primary,” Cruz said, according to National Review’s Eliana Johnson. “Right now, the Washington establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio, they’ve made the assessment that Marco can’t win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump. We’re seeing that happen every day, and Mr. Trump is welcoming that support.”

In a recent interview, Sen. Cruz referred to Trump as a part of the “Washington cartel.” Cruz’s comparison of the federal government to a cartel is spot on and anyone serving inside the Beltway is a bandit. Cruz didn’t stop there.

In an interview with BuzzFeed’s Rosie Gray, Cruz stated the cartel is about deals and cronyism.

“The cartel exists to make deals and to pick winners and losers through cronyism and corporate welfare,” Cruz said in an interview with BuzzFeed’s Rosie Gray. “And so it’s no surprise that more and more of the establishment is beginning to support Donald Trump. Because Donald has promised to make deals and to continue the cronyism and corporate welfare of Washington. That’s what the cartel does. They make deals with Democrats.”

With Trump, a multi-billionaire businessman, he is all about the deal. Cruz is pointing out an important detail many may overlook with Trump simply because of his oratory.

“Donald Trump said just yesterday that the problem with me is that I wouldn’t go to Washington to make a deal and go along to get along with the Democrats,” Cruz said. “If you’re looking for someone who’s a dealmaker, who’ll capitulate even more to the Democrats who’ll give in to Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi, then perhaps Donald Trump is your man.”

With the disaster the Hussein Soetoro administration has been, the public does not need another candidate from the Republican Party who “goes along to get along.” America needs an individual who demonstrates strength, intelligence, common sense, statesmanship, and a solid working knowledge and understanding of the original intent of the Constitution. The united States needs a captain at the helm after seven years of “going where the wind blows” which has been the case resulting in the partial destruction of this nation.

“It is not a surprise that the establishment is in full panic mode,” Cruz told BuzzFeed News in an interview on his campaign bus. “We predicted from the very beginning that the Washington cartel would fire every tool in its arsenal to prevent a conservative victory in this primary.”

The Republican Party knows it is in trouble with the voting base after the 2014 midterm elections resulted in a plethora of broken promises by those elected to produce a majority in both chambers. Nothing changed with the Republicans holding a majority in both the Senate and the House. Congress operated according to the status quo meaning Hussein Soetoro gets everything he wants like a spoiled brat whose parents refused to set limits and discipline their child.

In looking at where the Republican Party stands, the establishment attempts to push establishment after the voting base followed the party pleas in 2014 only to see the Republicans elected function as “Democrat Lites” or morph into RINOs. At this point, the voting base is looking for a conservative candidate or one who will at the least work toward upholding conservative principles. Donald Trump has rallied America by using their emotions and tapping desperation for a strong leader by stating aloud what many think.

However, the Republican voting base needs to take a long hard look at the candidates objectively before giving into emotion. The Republican Party may very well lean toward Trump due to his current popularity. As a businessman, Trump knows the corporate world, but the united States is not a corporation. It is a nation established by the people vesting limited authority in the federal government as declared in the Constitution to protect the individual God-given rights of the people, despite the government operating as a corporate entity.

The nation needs no more wheeling and dealing. Likewise, cronyism needs to go. However, the Republican Party has to produce a qualified candidate who will “fit in” and still provide the illusion of conservatism for much of its voting base.

The GOP is in trouble. There is no doubt about it. Whatever candidate the GOP nominates will have to deal with a multitude of problems on a multitude of fronts if elected. Moreover, there will be the pressure to correct many of the wrongs inflicted upon the people by a criminal Congress and traitorous former president. At this point, which candidate can handle the mess this nation is in right now while maintaining true to the Constitution?

To be honest, the mess that has been government for the past 10 decades is not going to be corrected by electing a different president, Republican or Democrat, nor will it be corrected by electing new members of the House or Senate. The federal government operates more outside the authority given it by the Constitution than within it. When the people decide enough is enough and consider seriously regaining government, the people will correct it. Until then, elections and Congressional workings are nothing more than dog and pony shows for the people to provide the illusion of a Constitutional republic. Unfortunately, the nation may be completely “transformed” before the people react.
