Democrat Leaders Side with Trump’s Missile Strike

If this doesn’t tell you something, then you are not paying attention.  Both Democrat Senate and House Minority leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are taking sides with President Donald Trump on the missile strike in Syria earlier this week.

“Making sure Assad knows that when he commits such despicable atrocities he will pay a price is the right thing to do,” Schumer said in a statement.

“It is incumbent on the Trump administration to come up with a strategy and consult with Congress before implementing it. I salute the professionalism and skill of our Armed Forces who took action today,” Schumer added.

Pelosi said, “Tonight’s strike in Syria appears to be a proportional response to the regime’s use of chemical weapons.”

She then added, “If the President intends to escalate the U.S. military’s involvement in Syria, he must come to Congress for an Authorization for Use of Military Force which is tailored to meet the threat and prevent another open-ended war in the Middle East.”

“The crisis in Syria will not be resolved by one night of airstrikes,” Pelosi added.  “The killing will not stop without a comprehensive political solution to end the violence.  The American people are owed a comprehensive strategy with clear objective to keep our brave men and women in uniform safe.”

While I appreciate their passion, I wish Schumer and Pelosi, as well as all representatives, including the president looked at abortion as “despicable atrocities,” the way they view these strikes.

Pelosi and Schumer seem to be breaking with many of their fellow Democrats over the issue.  Additionally, this issue does not fall down squarely on party lines.  There are plenty of Republicans questioning the legality of this action, as well.  Among those are Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).  Meanwhile, the usual RINO suspects, Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and John McCain (R-AZ) are applauding the strikes.

It’s interesting that these are the same people that have supported Obama in Libya and Yemen without congressional approval.

One thing to keep in mind is where the attack occurred and those involved.  ZeroHedge reports on an anti-Assad journalist in Syria, who claims the evidence does not support the assertions of airborne chemical weapons.

“On April 3rd, 2017, an anti-Assad journalist tweeted that the next day he would be launching a media campaign to cover airstrikes on the Hama countryside, including the use of chemical weaponsIt is not clear how the reporter was able to know that chemical weapons would be used an entire day before the attacks occurred.”

The report goes on to state:

Observers further noted that on April 1st, 2017, a doctor on the ground in Khan Sheikhoun, Dr. Shajul Islam, had received several shipments of gas masks in the days running up to the chemical incident. The revelations on Twitter fueled speculation that opposition figures were aware of the chemical attack days before it actually happened, contesting the narrative that the Syrian government was responsible. Daily Mail has reported that Dr. Shajul Islam was at one point sought by the British government in connection with the abduction of two journalists in Syria, and security services have stated that Islam and his brother may have had ties to ISIS executioner “Jihadi John.”

Additionally, footage from the scene of the incident taken by the Syrian White Helmets appears to show that their operatives were not assisting victims in a manner that was consistent with established protocol on how to handle sarin saturated bodies. Images appear to show that Syrian White Helmet operatives were handling purported sarin victims with their bare hands, rather than with gloves, which is necessary to prevent the rescuer being injured by the chemical themselves. They also appear to be using simple dust masks, which are not suitable protection in the event of a sarin attack.

It’s interesting about the White Helmet operatives, isn’t it?  They have already been exposed for their war propaganda against Assad in Syria.  So, the fact they were not taken out in the attack, but were Johnny on the spot to “help” should give us all pause as to the validity of what we are being told.  Think Orwell’s 1984 at this point.

Interestingly enough, Pamela Geller wrote, “The White Helmets are evil… The Left know about the White Helmets. They know about White Helmet leader Raed Salah being refused entry to the United States.”

She then made mention of Hillary Clinton with regard to the White Helmets.  “But Hillary would like you to believe she doesn’t know any of this. Any decent person must see now that a Hillary Clinton administration will continue to support things like the White Helmets, the destruction of Syria, and the turning over of the Assad family to the killers as was done to Muammar Qadhafi.”

Hold that thought as the situation escalates in Syria.

ZeroHedge pointed out two other issues:

  • Rebels Are Known To Have Possessed And Used Chemical Weapons In Syria For Some Time
  • The Khan Sheikhoun Incident May Be Part Of An Ongoing Power Struggle Over U.S. Policy In Syria

There is a history here to what we are doing with Syria.

Retired Four Star General Wesley Clark said on March 2, 2007:

“We’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and finishing off Iran.”

I believe the missile strike was unconstitutional and unlawful, and before I hear, “Well, Obama did….” let me ask you one thing, what difference does that make?  It does not justify more lawless actions.  I don’t care if it’s a Democrat or Republican.  We only have one Constitution.  It is clear that it demands Congress declare war.  The president isn’t just out there on his own making these decisions without that authorization, and yes, I’ve dealt with the War Powers Act concerning this.

If the president commits a misdemeanor, it is impeachable.  I dealt with Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah in the same way that I’m speaking out against Donald Trump.  By not dealing with this now, you watch, we will be in Syria by the end of the year in a full on war just like these other countries we are in, and it will be the blood of our sons and daughters being spilled.
