“We Didn’t Lose a Single Person in Libya” Hillary Clinton, We Lost Four!

At the most recent Democrat debate event (actually a Town Hall), Hillary Clinton said something quite shocking that should trouble most Americans. Speaking on her disastrous foreign policy efforts and the many failures she’s experienced in politics, Clinton tried to rewrite history on our debacle in Libya.

“Libya was, uh, a different kind of, um, calculation. We didn’t lose a single person.”

Look, let’s leave the “we didn’t lose a single person” thing alone for a second (though we will return). The fact that Clinton is trying to spin Libya into a win for the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is simply psychotic. Libya is a more dangerous place today than it was before our intervention. Sure, the country was being run by a despotic maniac (but some would say the USA is too), but at least that despotic maniac was keeping the genocidal Muslim terrorists in check. Today, Libya is a place of carnage, violence and danger. Both ISIS and Al Qaeda in Libya control vast swaths of land, and they’ve taken up the hobby of murdering innocent people for sport!

Who cares about voting when your family members are getting their heads chopped off?

Even the liberal Hillary-supporting media has been unable to defend her disastrous Libya policy. Salon went so far as to call it a “disaster” that “should haunt her.”

Clinton’s leadership in the catastrophic war in Libya should ergo constantly be at the forefront of any discussion of the presidential primary.

Throughout the campaign, Clinton has tried to have her cake and eat it too. She has flaunted her leadership in the war as a sign of her supposed foreign policy experience, yet, at the same moment, strived to distance herself from the disastrous results of said war.

Today, Libya is in ruins. The seven months of NATO bombing effectively destroyed the government and left behind a political vacuum. Much of this has been filled by extremist groups.

Millions of Libyans live without a formal government. The internationally recognized government only controls the eastern part of the country. Rivaled extremist Islamist groups have seized much of the country.

Downtown Benghazi, a once thriving city, is now in ruins. Ansar al-Sharia, a fundamentalist Salafi militia that is designated a terrorist organization by the U.S., now controls large chunks of it. ISIS has made Libya home to its largest so-called “caliphate” outside of Iraq and Syria.

Thousands of Libyans have been killed, and this violent chaos has sparked a flood of refugees. Hundreds of thousands of Libyan civilians have fled, often on dangerous smuggling boats. The U.N. estimates more than 400,000 people have been displaced.

A disjointed peace process, mediated by the U.N. and other countries, drags on, with no signs of the war ending anytime soon.

Now let’s look a little deeper at the idea that “we didn’t lose a single person.” We didn’t lose a “single” person, we lost four. Ambassador Chris Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALS Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. In the aftermath, Clinton has done nothing but lie, deflect, and obfuscate what happened there in an effort to salvage her political career. Now she can’t even be bothered to acknowledge their sacrifice.

It’s a perfect example of why Hillary Clinton is not fit to serve us in any capacity, let alone as President of the United States.
