For the last seven years we’ve had a lying, liberal Democrat president who has brought America to the brink of economic collapse, divided the country by race and class and diminished our stature around the globe. The politicians we elect routinely lie to us, but they get away with it because very few have the courage to expose them.
Donald Trump has exposed just how corrupt the government is like no one else before. He is also displaying his leadership expertise on many fronts. If the media covered his campaign fairly and didn’t protect Hillary, Trump would be trouncing her in the polls. Even so, a CNN/ORC poll now shows Clinton trailing Trump in four-candidate pairings by a 45-to-43 percent margin.
Last week in Philadelphia, Trump delivered a powerful speech outlining his plan to rebuild and strengthen American defenses. Based on recommendations from the Army chief of staff and Heritage Foundation, Trump announced that as president he would expand every branch of the military, and ask military generals, within 30 days of Trump taking office, to present a plan to defeat and destroy ISIS. His plan also includes a new “state-of-the-art” missile-defense system.
Then, speaking at the Values Voter Summit in D.C., Trump outlined his plan to get rid of the Johnson Amendment to support the rights of churches and conservative nonprofit organizations to get involved in politics without fear of having their nonprofit tax-exempt status revoked. Passed in 1954, the Johnson Amendment prohibits 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations from endorsing or opposing candidates. All the groups accused of violating the law thus far have been been conservative. Trump also outlined a plan to implement voucher programs so low-income families trapped in bad neighborhoods would have the option to send their kids to better schools.
Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, spoke at a glitzy fundraising event at Cipriani in New York City in front of a pro-LGBT crowd and insulted millions of Americans by referring to Trump supporters as “deplorables” and as “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic and Islamophobic.” She raised $6 million at the event, but she drew the outrage of many millions more. Hillary was forced to backpedal with a half-hearted “apology.”
Donald Trump is setting the agenda and pace of the campaign, while Hillary is reacting. She is appearing tired and sick, suffering increasing coughing fits and even a fainting episode at the 9/11 remembrance event in New York City.
Trump recently accepted an invitation from Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and traveled to Mexico to begin establishing a relationship based on mutual respect. Hillary turned down the invite and criticized Trump for going.
Hillary wants our border to remain porous. She also seeks to increase the number of Syrian refugees coming into the U.S. by over 500 percent! Hillary has said she wants to raise Obama’s limit of 10,000 refugees to 65,000. According to reports, each year, the U.S. permanently admits more than 100,000 immigrants from the Middle East, and many more from Muslim countries outside the Middle East.
Last month, while Obama was playing golf at Martha’s Vineyard, Trump toured flood-damaged Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Hillary was nowhere in sight.
As the end of his presidency draws near, Obama is allowing himself and America to be disrespected internationally on a scale we’ve never seen.
During Obama’s final tour of Asia at the G20 meeting, China’s leaders forced him to disembark from Air Force One through a little-used exit in the plane’s belly with no rolling staircase or red carpet. Chinese authorities reportedly rolled out the red carpet for all the other leaders. Experts on China are convinced that this was a deliberate slight intended “to make the Americans look diminished and weak.”
China isn’t the first to humiliate Obama. Saudi Arabia snubbed Obama when he arrived in Riyadh for his farewell tour by sending a low-level official instead of a high-ranking member of the royal family. Apparently, Obama’s apology tour and bowing didn’t earn him any respect.
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte also triggered outrage last week when he reportedly called Obama a “son of a bitch,” causing the U.S. to cancel a formal meeting between the leaders.
Even the Castro brothers dissed Obama. During his visit to Cuba a few months ago, neither Raul nor Fidel Castro showed up to greet him. Obama is like Rodney Dangerfield; he gets no respect!
Then there’s Syria. A U.N. report found that Syrian President Bashar Assad has used chlorine gas against his own civilian population, violating the Chemical Weapons Convention, which he joined as part of the deal he struck in 2013. This is another gross violation of the “red line” drawn by Obama and Hillary. But all they’ve done is call for more meetings and U.N. sanctions.
We can elect a president who will create a stronger and more prosperous nation, bringing honor back to America; or we will get a corrupt politician who will use her position to enrich herself and continue Obama’s legacy of weakness and appeasement, as she exposes the American people to grave danger.
