Earth Day: Pope Francis Jumps Onboard with the Religion of Global Warming

This week many around the world will observe “Earth Day.” What started out 45 years ago as the brainchild of Senator Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin in an attempt to create a “new wave” of environmental activism, has morphed into a new form of religion. Nelson was a Democrat who also believed that population control was paramount to the survival of the planet. This is actually a very common theme among the most vocal global warming advocates from Ted Turner to Bill Gates. Here is Ted Turner in an interview with Charlie Rose, detailing the importance of “voluntary” population control.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The founder of CNN has 5 children, but apparently the rest of us need to limit ourselves to meet his mandate. It’s also worth noting that the founder of CNN has a net worth in excess of $2 Billion dollars, yet he’s concerned that “too many people are using too much stuff.” Of course, this is nothing more than another example of liberal hypocrisy, but it’s worth noting nonetheless. Although Earth Day will serve as a catalyst for pushing forward a radical agenda, there is something far more sinister at work here. Global warming is considered by some to be a “scientific based ideology”; therefore, there is no room for a belief in God. In the words of Richard Dawkins, “not only is science corrosive to religion; religion is corrosive to science.”

While we can expect nothing less from the fanatical left, here’s the problem. Later this month, the Vatican will host a major global warming conference that includes various religious leaders from around the world. According to the Vatican, the goal of this one day conference is to “elevate the debate on the moral dimensions of protecting the environment.” Does Pope Francis simply not understand that “science” is not the friend of religion, or is he simply trying to stay above the fray? In either case, I would call this a dangerous move by the most significant religious figure in the world. What started out as a radical, environmentalist movement has become one of the biggest threats to organized religion; and they’re not likely to simply give up the fight.

In closing, I hope you’ll all join me this week as these Earth worshipers observe Earth Day. This is the day where massive hypocrites will lecture us about our “carbon footprint,” as they fly around the world on private jets (think Al Gore, Bill Gates, John Kerry, etc). Here’s my pledge for the year. Unless they live in a cave, ride their bicycles to work, never fart, don’t exhale, use solar panels for purposes besides heating their Olympic sized pool (again, think Al Gore), then I’m going to tell them to shut their pie holes and mind their own business. Or at least after they can explain to me why the Earth is still in its 5th ice age? Without human beings, SUV’s, and private jets, what caused the first 4 ice ages to come to an end? “Climate” is always changing, welcome to planet Earth, an amazing, living, breathing planet!
