Fake Package Deliverers Put Gun to Mother’s Face – Son Intervenes with Shotgun to Save the Day

Twenty-four year old Belgie Tapia answered her door thinking that United Parcel Service was delivering her a package when a man put a gun to her head, telling her to get on the ground. However, her son intervened with a shotgun, saving her life and driving the criminals away.

Tapia told ClickOrlando.com, “I proceeded to open the door and that’s when he put the gun to my face and told me to lay down on the ground.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The two tied Tapia up, using zip ties and duct tape.

“They proceeded to put the gun to my head and threaten me,” Tapia said. “If I didn’t find them anything of value they were going to shoot me.”

The man was wearing a UPS hat and shirt and so Tapia believed it was safe to open the door to the man.

The man, according to sheriff’s deputies, was 23-year-old Travis Brown. Brown also had an accomplice, 24-year-old Kayla Oharrow, who followed behind him into the house as they looked for something of value.

Tapia’s 2-year-old daughter was also in the house.

However, what the two robbers were not expecting was Tapia’s older brother, Jose, to witness their break in via a surveillance system that was part of Tapia’s home security system.

Deputies were alerted via a 911 call and investigators were able to monitor what was going on inside the home via the surveillance system.

Detective Jason Sams told WESH, “He (Jose) overhead screaming in the house and he looked on the home surveillance system, just like you can buy from any company, and saw what was going on. He had a shotgun and armed himself, which probably prevented any more harm to the rest of the family.”

Jose was able to chase after the pair after they fled the house, firing several times at them with a shotgun.

The couple made it to their car with Jose in close pursuit, but they managed to get away as deputies arrived. They later crashed their car into a fence at a park nearby.

Both Oharrow and Brown are facing felony home invasion charges. Brown already has a long criminal history.

Tapia would later tell WKMG, “I was praying the whole time. I’m thankful to God that my daughter’s safe.”
