Former Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Terry Bradshaw spoke on Fox and Friends and tied the protesting of NFL players to a much larger problem that is taking place in the united States. He said that if you talked about Jesus behind the desk while you are commenting on the game, you are “automatically pigeonholed and kicked off the desk.”
“I do have a problem when people in this country don’t respect our flag and national anthem. All you got to do is look around – this country’s getting worse and worse and more and more immoral and we’re rotting from within,” Bradshaw said.
“All great empires die from within,” added Bradshaw. “We can’t talk about Jesus. We can’t mention that anymore. So we say ‘I’m religious’ – because if we say Jesus, you automatically are pigeon holed and kicked off the desk.”
“You can’t talk about it,” Bradshaw continued. “The two vice presidential guys are going at it and they are both saying what? ‘We’re religious’. What does that mean – you’re religious? Everybody is religious.”
Terry Bradshaw is correct. Everybody is religious. In fact, this is part of the problem today. People reject the idea that their religion actually influences anything, but it does.
As I’ve pointed out before, Christians who look to God’s Law see how it affects every aspect of life, but not just personally. It even affects how we deal civilly in government and law. Islamists have a similar concept, but with injustices abounding. Secular humanists don’t want God’s Law in place either. Sadly, many Christians fall for humanism when it comes to government and law and justice.
Terry Bradshaw is merely stating the obvious. America has abandoned the Bible and the God who gave her the foundation she has hundreds of years ago, and now we are seeing the fruits of our rebellion against our Creator.
