God’s Amazing Sky

God’s amazing sky and all the incredible stuff that lies within it are a part of His glorious Creation. For instance, the sun the stars, asteroids, and the planets are all signs of his handiwork. I hope this article will also convince anti-theists that the galaxy and the planets and the universe did not create itself, but that God made the Heavens and the Earth. (Genesis 1:1)

The study of the heavenly bodies is called Astronomy. The study of Astronomy is very important to know. For example, a couple of weeks ago, I did not like science. I thought it was boring and just a waste of time. However, now that I started reading more, I began to realize that it is very important to know science. It shows you how wonderful, creative, and protective God really is about the earth.

First of all, let’s look at the Sun. The Sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the Earth. It would take you 150 years to get there if you went 70 mph on the road your entire life. The sun is approximately 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit. It revolves around the earth. The Sun is the largest star in the solar system. Without the Sun, a lot of things couldn’t exist. It is the most important energy source for the whole Earth.

Then, there are the planets. The planets are: Earth, Neptune, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. Fast fact: Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system.

Our galaxy is called the Milky Way. The Milky Way is the gigantic white-like galaxy that contains our solar system. It is called the Milky Way because of its milky-like look.

When I said in the beginning of this article that God is protective of the universe, here is the reason why. When harmful gas or bad things get close to the earth, the earth’s magnetic field blocks the bad things that try to get inside. The things that barely get into the Earth’s atmosphere burn up or just drop to the ground and they look like little pebbles for the most part. Occasionally something gets through that is much larger.

Have you considered the stars in the sky? (Genesis 1:16) When you look at a star, it looks very small. However, they are very big and approximately 5,500 degrees Fahrenheit. The stars are an important part of astronomy too.

Finally, there are asteroids. Asteroids are the white giant rock that travels through space. They can be up to 28 miles long!

God is awesome and His universe is a great display of His creativity and power!

Remember, science is very important to know, just like I learned for it shows us the incredible power of the Creator.
