Hillary is the Shadowy Past, But is Trump Hope for the Future?

After nearly two full years of scrutiny what have we found?

In fairness, a long list of details about each candidate will hardly change anything in only one week. The time is now, but the entire panorama of the last two years should bring us to pause and ponder which future we are willing to embrace.

There is a complexity and simplicity to every matter in life. As it pertains to the future of 300 million Americans it behooves us to ponder the essence, the bottom line or the projected outcome of our choices – we will have to live in them for a good long time.

What we see are two candidates, like children vying for the same spot in the scheme of things, but for completely different reasons. Their past behaviors and the respective trails they leave behind, is all we have to make our best judgment.

An overall picture begins to emerge if we are willing to broaden that picture beyond the clamor and passion of a presidential race. We can only see it by pushing aside the clashing, the noise of media and the endless opinions of the so called experts.

Apart from the influencers, the panoramas of each candidate’s life and accomplishments have a voice of its own. It is singular; it is neither influenced nor summarized by other voices.

What does it say?

The simple version is a picture of two children growing up in a very complex world. Each is influenced by what is around them and what is deep inside of them. Their separate characters are beaten into shape and formed on the anvil of fate, or Providence, depending on which view you choose to accept.

In Donald Trump what emerges is a bad boy who started well, but veered off course from time to time to play. He touched the things that lured all of us, but he always came back to center after making corrections.

He even went sleazy for a moment, but had the good sense to admit he was wrong and apologized, not to a few insiders, but to an entire nation.

That open contriteness was the best of his character, for the whole world to see.

His speech is yet a bit rough, double adjectives and occasional expletives notwithstanding, but even that cannot hide the obvious maturity that has helped create a vision in him, for the land of his nativity – a land he unquestionably loves.

He is no product of the Sunday school, but retains a respect for Deity that all wise men throughout history have maintained. It will neither hurt him, nor us, in the future.

We can’t use the word perfect when describing Donald Trump, but he has clarity on many levels that can be easily noticed. Justice, fair play, equity, and both a clear knowledge of all that America ever was, and could still be, are hallmarks of his maturity – they are what make him a leader – we alone can decide, if he will be – our leader.

Along comes the other child.

Caught up in the liberal lollapalooza of her day Hillary followed the hyper-progressivism of her generation to its logical conclusion. She now sees American freedoms and personal rights as something that does not need to be accountable to anyone except on a purely personal level.

She has managed to put people in clear cut categories like the “desirables” (those that love her), the “deplorables” (those that don’t), and the “disposables” (those unborn inconveniences that will never have a chance to love anyone).

Last, but not least, are the “deviants” (Those who think a sexual preference is a constitutional right and a God given mandate).

Somewhere along the line, being in the public view, with all its sundry allurements and privileges, became the apple of her eye, and the hunger for power was born.

The quest for power was not accompanied by a solid moral foundation. Lying and regurgitation of her adopted political ideologies became her hallmark and brand. It along with her dismal record of accomplishments has created the kind of woman she is today.

She has no vision, she is the vision, but it is a shadowy offering from the past that holds no promise for the future.

The Deity is someone explained to her by an apostate church and her view of religion is so far from the founders vision that her attitudes could be called pure – antichrist.

When Hillary openly declared that civil rights law trumps religious freedoms, she was declaring to all Americans that hold to the faith of our Fathers, that they need to be corrected by the state.

Perhaps she would be willing to correct God as well!

To say that Hillary is an American nightmare may be mean spirited, but to say she is the greatest threat to the American dream in our entire history- is not.

I can only decide for myself, but I know that even without being a conservative Christian voter, I will never pull the lever in any voting booth, at any time, for someone who is a threat to the future of my country.

I will not sprinkle this piece with names like Alinsky, Soros and Marx. I will not use the usual allusions to communism, liberalism and other failed ideologies. For me and millions of those who understand the Biblical worldview, I am satisfied that this present battle goes much higher up the scale, but the outcome may be very deadly. To wit:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph 6: 12)
