Indiana School Caves To Atheist Group, Bans Prayer

We are all familiar with the story. It continues to repeat itself all across our country. Some unnamed person goes to Freedom From Religion Federation. FFRF, in turn, sends a letter, and then there is the eventual cave and abridgment of freedom.

This has happened in the state of Indiana over student-led pray. And this shows us two important facts. First, they will not stop until we are not allowed to pray anywhere. Second, government schools are promoters of atheist ideals.

Christian News reports:

An Indiana school district has discontinued all invocations during school programs following a complaint from a prominent professing atheist organization.

Earlier this year, the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) sent a letter to the superintendent of Jennings County Schools to request that prayer be kept out of district-sponsored events.

According to FFRF, the district resisted for some time, but due to follow-up letters, it now has advised that prayer will no longer be a part of school programs.

We see the first fact in that now the atheist has changed what he wants. Before, the battle was against teacher-led or encouraged prayer. The atheist would argue that when teachers lead prayer, non-believing students felt obligated to pray. They were pressured to believe. They were shamed.

Now, they are saying that the fact that the school district “plans” a time for the students to pray points to government endorsement of prayer.

Christian News continues:

“It is unconstitutional for Jennings County Schools to schedule, approve or otherwise endorse prayers or other religious messages,” the letter read. “A prayer taking place at a ‘regularly scheduled school-sponsored function conducted on school property’ would lead an objective observer to perceive it as state endorsement of religion.”

So, here we are. As soon as one inch is conceded the atheist promptly demands the next inch. They do not aim at acceptance, but conformity. Proving once again that even sinful man seeks to take dominion, even if it is for sinful ends.

Second, the environment in which our children cannot take part in the act of prayer can be seen as no other than an atheistic environment. Forget the fact that these teachers must teach from the absence of God, but now add to the fact that our children are told that they cannot pray.

Christian parents should abandon these godless destroyers of the human soul.
