Intolerant Ohio Chamber of Commerce Sides with Sodomites over Christian Videographer

There was once a time when a person had the right to refuse service to a customer. Now in the U.S. that no longer seems to be the case. We have to accept the fact that our inaction and silence has placed us in a situation where we either have to accept all people and practices or not be in business. This is again the situation in Ohio.

Christian News reports:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Two lesbian women in Ohio have filed a complaint with their local Chamber of Commerce after a Christian videographer declined to record their commitment ceremony, and now the chamber is vowing to revise its policies to prohibit members from turning down orders related to homosexuality.

Now, this is not an issue of Sodomite Unions, because that is not legal in Ohio, yet. This has to do with a “commitment ceremony.” It comes down to the fact that the videographer believes to render service in such a ceremony would make her complicit it something she considers to be sin. And, of course, this hurt the women’s feelings.

Christian News adds:

“I couldn’t believe it,” (Jenn) Moffitt told CNN in regard to (Courtney) Schmackers’ response. “It is a small business, and I thought this was a tight knit community. We wanted to support local commerce and to get that kind of response was astounding.”

Moffitt’s response may be the saddest of all. She as a sodomite is astonished that someone would not want to take part in a sodomite commitment ceremony. We live in a world where the Christian and her objection to sodomy is out of the norm and unexpected. See how far we have come down this road of depravity? And, of course, the establishment has jumped to respond to this situation. They want to accommodate the lawbreaker, even though there is no law stating that Schmakers has to accommodate them.

Therefore, Moffitt and (Jerra) Kincely contacted the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce to lodge a complaint. The Chamber now states that as a result, it is in the process of re-writing its policies to prohibit members “from discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender expression, age, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or military status.”

And to no one’s surprise, the politician had to put in his two cents.

Bexley Mayor Ben Kessler has also publicly come out against Schmackers as well.

‘Understandably, the community is concerned about a … Bexley based business, in which the private business in question has reportedly denied a service based on sexual orientation,” he wrote. “The City is concerned as well. We are proud of our community’s welcoming environment and encourage mutual respect and inclusivity.”

So, then Mayor Kesser, where is the mutual respect and inclusivity for this Christian business woman? Where is your tolerance for her rights and beliefs? The authority that has been installed by God to promote righteousness and punish evil is punishing righteousness and promoting evil.

When the wicked rule, it is the righteous who fear.

Where are God’s people on this issue, and why are they silent?

Editor’s Note: Feel free to contact the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce and express to them their utter hypocrisy in prohibiting its members from discriminating, while allowing for discrimination from the community based on religion.
