There are many people that have a distorted and idolatrous view of Jesus Christ. Some see Him as a “lily white boy” while others view Him as a black man. Others have this view of Jesus as some wimpy little “momma’s boy.” But the Christ was not a pansy.
Sons of Liberty Radio show co-host Stephanie Joy pointed this out in a recent article and then spoke about it on Wednesday during the broadcast.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Jesus was not a pansy,” she said. “Jesus was not walking around with this false love and version of peace, smacking little sheep on the butt.”
She went on to describe some of the “Bible stories” that are put out for children.
While some are good and biblical, some are not. However, Stephanie pointed out that there is something that is unfortunate about the way Jesus the Christ is portrayed to most children.
“Whenever they highlight Jesus, as opposed to David or Samuel, Christ is very ‘pansyish,'” she said. “However, the Bible says that Christ spoke as One having authority… He was the Christ.”
The Bible describes Jesus Christ as:
- The Alpha & The Omega, The Beginning and the End (Revelation 1:8)
- The Bright and Morning Star (Rev. 22:16)
- The Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6)
- The Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Rev. 5:5)
- The Man of War (For more see Isaiah 9: 6-7)
Show host Bradlee Dean chimed in that Jesus still is the Christ, the Risen and Incarnate Son of God.
Jesus was not one who spread a false, fluffy, emotional peace and love around. In fact, it was His straightforward hard words that He gave which ultimately filled the religious hypocrites with so much hate for Him that they crucified Him.
Christ did not come into the world to tell the world what it wanted to hear. He came to tell it what it needed to hear.
However, for many they love their sin more than they love the truth and so they will not come to Christ that they might be saved from their sin.
There are many “professed” believers who are looking for their own style of “Jesus.” For the most part, the “Professed Christian Church” has the God of the Bible all wrong because they fail to read the Bible (in its context) for who Jesus is and what He really commanded.
In many cases this can be demonstrated as people quote their favorite verses from the Bible completely out of context. Among those are John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:9, John 8:7, Matthew 7:1-6 and many others. These people distort the Words of God because they rip the verses from their context to silence their critics, completely unaware that they are simply doing what the devil did to Jesus in the Wilderness.
Many “pigeon-hole” their theology and thoughts about God and about Christ by picking and choosing what texts they want to address, but are unwilling to look at context. They hold onto all the verses they think sounds good and are filled with blessing and ignore law, commands, wrath and judgment texts. Many even distort the Ten Commandments and turn them into something they are not. Some will even claim those are not for today because they are “Old Testament,” as though Jesus never said, “Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled (Matt. 5:18).” These are blind, foolish people.
In America’s culture, Matthew 7:1-6 is often thrown out when a righteous indignation burns within God’s people and they cry out for justice to be done.
“Judge not, lest ye be judged,” is the mantra of open God haters and those that have a form of godliness, but deny the power of God.
Bradlee Dean then pointed out that this is the reason that we are in the predicament that we are in today in our culture.
“America is being destroyed because it doesn’t judge,” Dean said. “And God commanded them to judge, according to the reference of law the He gave.”
