John Boehner to Resign – Good Riddance!

Speaker John Boehner, who has been in violation of the Ohio Constitution for over a decade and been party to allowing socialists, communists and Islamists to maintain their agenda, is finally resigning Congress.

The New York Times reports:

Speaker John A. Boehner, under intense pressure from conservatives in his party, will resign one of the most powerful positions in government and give up his House seat at the end of October, throwing Congress into chaos as it tries to avert a government shutdown.

The Ohio representative struggled from almost the moment he took the speaker’s gavel in 2011 to manage the challenges of divided government and to hold together his fractious and increasingly conservative Republican members.

Most recently, Mr. Boehner, 65, was trying to craft a solution to keep the government open through the rest of the year, but was under pressure from a growing base of conservatives who told him that they would not vote for a bill that did not defund Planned Parenthood. Several of those members were on a path to remove Mr. Boehner as speaker, though their ability to do so was far from certain.

Mr. Boehner’s surprise announcement came just a day after Pope Francis visited the Capitol, the fulfillment of a 20-year dream for Mr. Boehner of having a pontiff address Congress. He had a private audience with Francis before the pope’s address to a joint meeting of Congress.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A Boehner aide told NBC News that Boehner “believes putting members through prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable damage to the institution. He is proud of what this majority has accomplished, and his Speakership, but for the good of the Republican Conference and the institution, he will resign the Speakership and his seat in Congress, effective October 30.”

“Speaker Boehner believes that the first job of any Speaker is to protect this institution and, as we saw yesterday with the Holy Father, it is the one thing that unites and inspires us all,” the aide added.

Boehner has had no problem is not protecting the Congress, the Constitution or the people of the united States. He has utterly failed in his ability to lead, but has relished all the goodies that have come with his position. This is why there was a move to oust him this year.

As for claiming pride of what the majority has accomplished, I ask, what have they accomplished? They certainly have not stopped the descent of America, the rise of our debt, the repeal of unconstitutional laws. Instead, Boehner has presided over unconstitutional authority designation to the Executive Branch and has attacked the very representatives of the grassroots movement in Congress.

Boehner should be met with an arrest warrant for his violation of oath of office instead of all the goodies that Congress voted for themselves after serving their term. In the end, good riddance of the treasonous John Boehner.
