The Clinton team is reeling from the latest revelations about the investigation into the presidential candidate’s continuing email scandal, and they’re doing their best to blame the negative press on the GOP.
But how could this be the GOP’s fault?
The secret information on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s personal email was more highly classified than previously understood, according to the intelligence community’s internal watchdog.
In a letter to Capitol Hill obtained by The Hill, Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III wrote that Clinton had highly classified information known as “special access programs” (SAP) on her private server.
“To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element,” the watchdog told lawmakers in Congress, Fox reported. “These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, and TOP SECRET/SAP levels.
SAP is the highest level of classification in the intelligence community and the notion that such highly classified information passed through Clinton’s private server is absolutely astonishing.
Judge Andrew Napolitano appeared on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom Wednesday and made the shocking statement that the latest information to become public about Hillary Clinton’s email scandal make her a “prime candidate for prosecution.” Napolitano also explained that he believes it is now more likely than not that the FBI will “recommend an indictment of Mrs. Clinton.” When host Bill Hemmer asked what she could be charged with, Napolitano explained that Clinton’s crime would be her failure to adequately protect “national security interests” in her decision to use a private and non-secure server.
“The evidence of that is overwhelming. What’s new … is that she failed to protect information of the highest possible category,” said Napolitano.
“The fact that she failed to safeguard that [intelligence]. That she put it on a non-secured, non-government server after she swore an oath – the same oath General Petraeus did – to secure it, makes her a prime candidate for prosecution,” he explained.
