Mainstream Media Desperation: Labels Alternative Media Sites As “Sophisticated Russian Propaganda Tools”

It’s interesting how the dying rags and television outlets claw and scrape at anything as citizen journalists expose the corruption and criminal activity in government and the media’s complicity in that corruption. While many propaganda outlets like The New York Times and The LA Times have saw fit to label sites like ours as “fake news,” it’s The Washington Post that has gone a step further in its “blame the Russians for ‘fake news'” by labeling alternative media as “sophisticated Russian propaganda tools.”

The Washington Post reports:

Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery — including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human “trolls,” and networks of websites and social-media accounts — echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers. The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

Two teams of independent researchers found that the Russians exploited American-made technology platforms to attack U.S. democracy at a particularly vulnerable moment, as an insurgent candidate harnessed a wide range of grievances to claim the White House. The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on “fake news,” as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.

There is no way to know whether the Russian campaign proved decisive in electing Trump, but researchers portray it as part of a broadly effective strategy of sowing distrust in U.S. democracy and its leaders. The tactics included penetrating the computers of election officials in several states and releasing troves of hacked emails that embarrassed Clinton in the final months of her campaign.

Watts’s report on this work, with colleagues Andrew Weisburd and J.M. Berger, appeared on the national security online magazine War on the Rocks this month under the headline “Trolling for Trump: How Russia Is Trying to Destroy Our Democracy.” Another group, called PropOrNot, a nonpartisan collection of researchers with foreign policy, military and technology backgrounds, planned to release its own findings Friday showing the startling reach and effectiveness of Russian propaganda campaigns.

Who is trying to destroy a democracy? These guys can’t even understand a basic premise here and that is that America is a republic. In fact, our Constitution states that it is supposed to guarantee a republican form of government.

The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union, a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened), against domestic violence. –Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution

So, who is pushing propaganda here? Me thinks it’s those who are protesting too much.

Sadly, even The Hill promoted the WAPO article.

Interestingly enough PropOrNot’s report that was given to the Post listed more than 200 websites, which they claim push Russian propaganda to about 15 million Americans. Among those is a site I am the editor-in-chief at, FreedomOutpost.com. Other sites listed have carried some of my articles such as InfoWars.com, DCClothesline.com and TheDailySheeple.com. Here’s the list.

Thank God that Frau Feinstein didn’t get her way and be able to define who a journalist is to silence the rights of American citizens.

These alleged “scientists” claim that all of these outlets are nothing more than “useful idiots” for reporting fact that mainstream media won’t touch because they are busy defending Hillary Clinton and the other criminals in the central government because they are the propaganda arm of DC.

Please note that our criteria are behavioral. That means the characteristics of the propaganda outlets we identify are motivation-agnostic.

For purposes of this definition it does not matter whether the sites listed here are being knowingly directed and paid by Russian intelligence officers, or whether they even knew they were echoing Russian propaganda at any particular point: If they meet these criteria, they are at the very least acting as bona-fide “useful idiots” of the Russian intelligence services, and are worthy of further scrutiny.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald hit the nail on the head about these people when he sent a duo of tweets on the subject.

Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge, which was also on the list of “Russian propaganda,” commented, “While this latest spin on the so-called ‘narrative’ will certainly backfire, and accelerate the demise of the mainstream media’s efforts to maintain credibility and control of the American mindset – which it painfully lost with their lies during the presidential campaign – not to mention ‘eyeballs’ and ad revenue, we remain fascinated by the so called ‘liberal left’s’ relentless charges that Trump will unleash a massive censorship assault on the ‘free press’ when the ‘free press’ itself is doing everything in its power to squash dissenting voices. To which all we can add is that it is a good thing that said ‘power’ is declining with every passing day.”

I agree with Durden’s comments and would also add that you really should watch the following video of the interview with former KGB member Yuri Bezmenov, in which he details how the Marxists planned to defeat that West without firing a shot. Pay close attention around the 7:20 mark when he is asked, “What do we do?” You may be quite surprised.
