“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” -Matthew 16:26

If you take a look at a modern day movie star’s, more like fallen stars, net worth, it is pretty crazy. They gain the world, but I ask, “What about their soul?”

Take a look…

Sylvester Stallone (also known as Rocky Balboa or John Rambo) is worth 400 million dollars!

What is it for a man to gain the world yet lose his own soul?

Or, how about Mark Whalberg, who stars and directs a variety of films, is worth 200 million dollars!

What is it for a man to gain the world yet lose his own soul?

Will Ferrell, also known as Elf, is worth 80 Million dollars! Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo in Star Wars and also Indiana Jones, is worth 210 Million dollars!

Speaking of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, George Lucas, who created both series, is worth 5.1 Billion dollars!

Tom Wilkinson, who played Benjamin Franklin in the John Adams documentary, is worth has an estimated net worth of 215 Million dollars!

Again, I say, what is it for a man to gain the world yet lose his own soul?

Michael Landon, from Little House on the Prairie, left an estate of 100 million dollars when he died!

Supposed stars in the world are given millions and billions of dollars! What is it for a man to gain the whole world yet lose his own soul?

This is what I say to men like George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Will Ferrell, Tom Wilkinson, Sylvester Stallone, and all these other stars: Lose the world and gain your soul (Matthew 3:2)

Lots of these people are so poor spiritually that all they have is money. No matter how much money you make in the world, you are still going to stand before your Maker (Hebrews 9:27) and give an account for what you did on the earth in every thought and action (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Friends, lose the world and gain your soul! Amen!
