Media Whitewashing Fresno Jihadi’s Crimes

What in the world is going on in the news media today? They dare to call conservative commentary and opinion “fake news,” but in the very next breath they misreport on facts in an effort to twist the narrative of world events. The latest such case comes to us from Fresno, California where a Muslim “black supremacist” went on a murderous rampage and some in the media refused to accurately report on the story.

Kori Ali Muhammad murdered 4 white men, and wounded another during his crime spree, which was motivated by racism and is being treated as a “hate crime.” However, when the Associated Press (AP) began reporting on the story they had a difficult time getting their facts straight.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

After Muhammad was captured by police on Tuesday, local media began reporting that he was shouting “Allahu Akbar” (a phrase we’ve all become acquainted with) which means “god is great” in Arabic, and that Muhammad told the police that he hated “white people.”

Sadly, these facts were simply too complicated for the AP to report on and instead they told their readers that the man simply shouted “god is great!”

The AP has now pulled their original tweet but the Internet is forever…

Screen Shot 2017-04-19 at 1.27.08 PMI know what you’re thinking… well, he said “Allahu Akbar” but it does mean “god is great” so technically… the AP report is accurate. Sure, but context is key and the AP’s reporting is obviously meant to mislead readers about the context of the crime. By using the English translation of what Muhammad actually said the AP was covering up the simple fact that the man was a Muslim. The AP quickly realized the error of their ways and deleted the tweet, though their original reporting still says that he shouted “god is great” in Arabic. (A better way to have written this, given the context of the crime and the world in which we live, would have been to  say that ‘Muhammad shouted “Allahu Akbar” which in Arabic means “god is great.”‘)

The AP likely decided to delete the tweet after facing severe backlash from their readers for the misleading tweet.

Interestingly, this kind of thing only seems to happen when Muslims or illegal immigrants are caught up in criminal activity. For example, the media was never reticent to describe Charleston killer Dylann Roof as a racist, white man who loved his Confederate flags. Let’s just call evil, evil and stop worrying about whose feelings we might hurt by reporting the facts.
