More on Sowing and Reaping

As we recently learned in my previous article “You Reap What You Sow,” we need to make sure that we are sowing good seed and not bad seed into our lives. I am going to talk more about that topic.

Let me ask you a question, when you play a video game, what did you learn from it? Nothing! 100%correct. When you sow that kind of seed in your life (Fruitlessness), don’t expect to reap a good harvest. He who sows to the wind will reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7). Think about it this way, your life is a great big field and you are scattering seeds for good or evil (Galatians 6:7-9).

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Let me give you an analogy: A farmer plants seed and expects to reap a great harvest. Do you want to reap a good harvest? Of course, everyone does. If you, like the farmer want a good harvest, you’re going to have to sow good seed (Matthew 13:37). And playing video games, is one good example of planting fruitless seed into the soil of your heart (Especially for you kids).

We do not want to waste our time with fruitless things that will not benefit our lives.  We do not want to waste our time, but redeem it (Ephesians 5:16).  God put you on this earth to honor and glorify Him and do His will. Make sure all your activities will bring forth a fruitful harvest.

We don’t want to spend our time on carnal and worldly stuff that is sin before God (1 Corinthians 6:9) and not profitable for the Kingdom of God.

You have one shot at this life. Make sure you sow the good seed and not the bad seed.  No matter if you believe it or not, you are going to reap it. And even if you don’t believe that, just remember, just because you don’t believe something, doesn’t mean it’s still not true. If I say that I do not believe in trucks, does that matter? What happens if I stand in front of one that is moving?  Smack!

So, the big question is this, what are you going to do with the life that God given you. Are you going to sow good seeds or bad seeds?

If you are thinking right now, you are being a little harsh about this, I want you to see what Proverbs has to say about it. Proverbs 3:12 says, “For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.” I am warning you because I love you enough to tell you the truth. I am doing it so that you know the truth and the truth can make you free (John 8:32). Which path are you going to take?  The choice is up to you!
