Never Drop Your Guard!

Did you know that it is a proven fact that more accidents take place in good weather conditions than in bad?  The reason being is that during poor weather, people are more cautious as they expect dangerous road conditions. During the summer months, however, when the weather is good, their guard is not up in the same way.

The same principal is true in life.

Following the results of the current election, did you know that gun stocks plunged?  Many people have the attitude like they can go back to sleep.  Some people are so foolish as to think that because one man (Or their favorite candidate) is elected into office, that all of the sudden they can pull down their guard and consider their problems over and done with.  How foolish!  America does have a Savior, but His name isn’t Donald Trump!  It’s Jesus Christ!

Never forget where your hope lies.  A soldier doesn’t take off his uniform and drop his weapon just because a barrage of attacks have a momentary lull.  That would be foolish of him to do so.  In the same way, just because your favorite candidate may be elected to office doesn’t mean you drop your guard.  Politicians like to shift positions once in power, and now, more than ever, do we need to be vigilant.  The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant…” Is that your frame of mind or are you one of those who easily falls asleep?

We are always to be watchful. As the Bible says in Matthew 24:43, “But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.”

That’s exactly what we need to do, keep watch.  If you think that corruption will somehow automatically end because of one man, think again.  The only hope for America is for us to repent, turn from our wicked ways back unto Jesus Christ and bring forth judgment upon evildoers.

Now is the time to be sober, vigilant and watchful.  In other words, drive like it’s bad weather!  There is so much work to be done in our country, which has to a huge degree become immoral and lawless (Exodus 20).  Until every man, woman and child knows Christ and is walking in the light and soundly saved, we have a job to do.  So let us keep watch and make sure we live our lives so as to never let down our guard.
