Following the Orlando shooting and all the whining and crying from Communist gun grabbers, the media was largely silent on one particular night club mass shooting in South Carolina. It seems it was largely due to the fact that a concealed weapon carrier was able to stop the shooting, which was in progress.
Deputies with Spartanburg County said a man faces multiple attempted murder charges after opening fire outside a nightclub early Sunday morning.
Deputies said 32-year-old Jody Ray Thompson pulled out a gun after getting into an argument with another man and fired several rounds toward a crowd that had gathered out in front of the club.
“His rounds struck three victims, and almost struck a fourth victim, who in self-defense, pulled his own weapon and fired, striking Thompson in the leg,” Lt. Kevin Bobo said.
Bobo said the man who shot Thompson has a valid concealed weapons permit, cooperated with investigators, and won’t be facing any charges.
So, there you have it. One man was there armed in a nightclub, and able to defend himself and others because of that.
“Thompson was still on the scene when deputies arrived, but the initial scene was chaotic,” Bobo said. “It wasn’t until victims and witnesses were interviewed, and video from the scene was reviewed that Thompson was identified as the suspect.”
Police charged Thompson with four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
None of the victims’ injuries were life threatening, according to Bobo, and Thompson was being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
Is anyone surprised that this didn’t make national news? It doesn’t fit the gun grabbers’ agenda, does it? After all, what we have heard out of the Obama administration has been doing nothing but attacking the Second Amendment. Additionally, it has come out that no one even died until SWAT teams entered the building. We also know that our government wants to take our weapons in order to make us defenseless against their crimes against us, just like they did at Wounded Knee.
What an amazing contrast it is when citizens’ rights are not infringed and they are allowed to protect themselves and those around them when compared to the Orland shooting.
