NY Butcher Gives Black Delivery Driver a Noose: “You Can Use It When You’re Stressed & Need to end It All”

Frankly, I don’t care what your skin color is, there is no reason for people to offer such a thing to another person made in the image of God and tell them to “end it all” by suicide via hanging.

Yet, this is what a New York butcher suggested to a man with dark pigmentation.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The New York Post reports:

A well-known butcher in the West Village is being investigated by cops for allegedly handing a noose to an African-American delivery driver and saying “Here’s your present.”

Joe Ottomanelli, of The Ottomanelli Bros. Butcher Shoppe, has been accused of giving the noose made from yellow rope to driver Victor Sheppard, according to police sources.

Sheppard, who was at the shop making a delivery, took the alarming object to police at the 6th Precinct Station House.

Sheppard told police the butcher exclaimed “Here’s your present” and “You can use it when you’re stressed and need to end it all,” according to police sources.

The 60-year-old Ottomanelli, whose shop has been in the neighborhood since 1900 and has gotten glowing reviews in the Zagat guide, has not been charged, though the probe is ongoing, sources said.

The owner of Bleeker Street Pizza, who said he has known Ottomanelli for 20 year, said the allegations against him were “bullsh–.”

“He probably joked and someone took it the wrong way,” the pizza maker, Tony Salihaj, said. “I think it’s bulls–t.”

“You can use it when you’re stressed and need to end it all,” he said, according to Sheppard’s account to cops.

Later, the butcher confessed to doing the deed and speaking the words.

He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for his actions.

Ottomanelli was first arrested and booked on aggravated harassment charges back in May.

However, instead of meeting our justice to him, prosecutors offered a plea deal since he lacked a prior criminal record.

He basically got off with a slap on the wrist.

What was done to Mr. Ottomoanelli?   He was given three days of community service.

Ottomanelli is to serve his time at a soup kitchen and if he does and completes a restorative justice program and stays out of trouble with the law, he could have his record expunged.
