Former GOP presidential candidate and current Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) took to his Facebook page following Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s appearance on The View and her Monday appearance on Meet the Press in which she stated that unborn human babies don’t have constitutional rights. Of course, specifically the right that was being addressed was the right to life. Paul stated that Clinton proved that the left has lost its mind when it comes to the issue of murdering babies.
“The left has lost its mind when it comes to abortion, and Hillary Clinton just proved that once again,” wrote the Kentucky senator. “On Tuesday’s ‘The View’, Hillary claimed that a child, on its due date, just before delivery, has no constitutional rights. Are you serious?”
For Paul, as for many of us, life begins at conception and that engaging in abortion is actually murder, the taking of human life, something that our Creator forbids and for which we will give an account to Him.
“And I’ve heard all the arguments from the left before, but this idea that a baby on its due date still has no constitutional rights?” said Paul. “That really takes the cake. And this woman is running for president.”
Like his father, former Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Rand has been an outspoken defender of the unborn during his time in office.
“As a physician, one of the first things I have embraced the most is the principle of ‘do no harm,'” wrote Paul. “As a senator, I’ve chosen to follow that creed. I believe completely that it is the government’s duty to protect life, liberty, and property, but primarily and most importantly, a government must protect life. That’s what makes Hillary’s comments outrageous to me.”
The younger Paul recently introduced the Life at Conception Act to end abortion nationwide.
“I will fight to protect unborn life with every ounce of my being,” Paul added. “I believe protecting innocent life is the moral issue of our time.”
“Sadly, we’ve lost our way on the value of human life,” Paul continued. Since the tragic Roe v. Wade decision, over 57 million unborn babies have been aborted — and Hillary and the left think this is a cause worth standing for? This is a travesty.”
According to Paul, he will use the “Supreme Court’s own words against them” by pointing to the 14th Amendments provisions to grant equal protection under the law to every American, born or unborn.
In April of last year, Paul put DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz on her heels when he turned a question around that was asked of him by the media and put it on Schultz, “What’s the DNC say? Is it okay to kill a 7-pound baby in the uterus? Ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz when life begins and when she’s willing to protect life? When you get an answer then come back to me.”
