Christmas is upon us and after that comes the New Year! During this time of year, it is typical that people make what we call “New Year’s Resolutions” for themselves. People make promises to lose weight, or quit smoking, or whatever they feel within themselves they’d like to change in the up-and-coming year. What if this year, instead of making the same old resolutions that nobody really tends to keep, how about we start a new tradition of making a resolution to take our country back? Imagine if everyone in America made the following pledge:
This year would be the year where we:
- First and foremost as a nation repented of and turned from our sin (1 John 1:9; 2 Chronicles 7:14).
- Ended abortion (Proverbs 6:16-17).
- Brought justice and judgment against this criminal administration and all of the wicked lawbreakers throughout this land in accordance with their crimes (Proverbs 21:3).
- Rid ourselves of all immoral behavior through movies, music, TV and all other types of social media (Exodus 20).
- And actually followed the “Golden Rule” of doing unto others as we would have done unto ourselves (Luke 6:31).
Just imagine how our world would be different. Just imagine the literal “Peace on Earth” we could bring forth throughout America. America would once again be a beacon of light and hope ever shining the light of God’s Word in truth throughout the world; and our children would have a future and a hope founded upon the Rock of our salvation, Jesus Christ (Psalm 18:2).
How about this year, we make some revolutionary resolutions to restore America back the founding principles that made it great? Can you imagine an America like we had at the beginning; a nation that feared God, was courageous, strong, and true to the God of Heaven that did not bend to tyranny? I would like to see that America restored in the up and coming New Year. A new Republican President is not going to do it. Making 10,000 new laws isn’t going to do it. A restoration of God’s Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) and a conversion of the people’s hearts back unto their Maker is the only way to restore our nation (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Remember, a resolution isn’t a resolution at all, unless you do it! How about this year, you make up your mind, and stick to it, to do all that you can do in your town or city to speak the truth and fight for this nation. Whatever it is the Lord lays on your heart to do, do it. Whether that means to start your own Christian patriotic home group, run for office, or hold your representatives’ feet to the fire like never before this year, there is so much that each and every one of us can do, and there is no excuse for doing nothing!
No one is going to do for you what God has called you to do. Don’t look for others to lead the way, be a leader yourself and watch and see how the Lord will use you to make a difference. Let this be the year of your resolve and an unwavering commitment to see America restored. Now, that’s a New Year’s Resolution worth making!
