Rocker Gene Simmons, of the group KISS, recently had his home searched by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. However, the department is saying that the search had nothing to do with the family. So, why the search?

ETOnline reports:

The LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force searched Simmons home in the Benedict Canyon area on Thursday at 8 a.m, Sgt. Mike Lopez told ET.

“The Simmons family was extremely cooperative and no members of the Simmons family are suspected in the case,” Sgt. Lopez said.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force helps “state and local agencies to develop effective, sustainable responses to online child victimization and child pornography,” according to their website.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

TMZ reported that sources revealed to them that someone downloaded child porn onto either one of their computers or used their internet access to do so. At the time of the alleged download, Simmons was on tour and away from his home.

“Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a Person Of Interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation,” said a spokesman for Simmons. “At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.”

Simmons tweeted out:

His wife followed up with this tweet:

The first question that comes to mind is how would the LAPD know that such things were being downloaded. Second, why would they wait nearly a year later to investigate? Could it be that this is somehow tied to the Jared Fogle crimes?

Simmons, who came to stardom from being “dirt poor,” has been married to his wife Shannon Tweed Simmons for nearly 4 years, though the couple have lived together for 30 years. They have two grown children, Nick and Sophie.

Simmons has also been very politically outspoken in recent years, blasting Barack Obama as a “piss poor president” and taking up for football quarterback Tim Tebow against those criticizing his Christian faith.

KISS has been known for many songs that glorify sexual immorality and other depravity. One song in particular, Goin’ Blind, from the album “Hotter than Hell,” is a song in which a 93-year-old man is drawn towards a 16-year-old girl. And then there is Christine Sixteen.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. -Luke 6:45

While Simmons is not necessarily a role model for anyone, one does have to wonder what is going on. Even if Simmons was away from home, there are a variety of programs that access one’s computer while away from home. I don’t understand why that would not come into play in the search.
