Sheriff’s Deputy & Suspect Wanted for “Possession of a Syringe” Dead after Gun Fight

I honestly believe this “war on drugs” thing is nothing more than a ploy, much like the “war on terrorism” is, to undermine the Bill of Rights and institute man’s law above God’s. Now and Indiana Sheriff’s deputy is dead along with a suspect over a possible possession of… a syringe.

ABC News reports:

A sheriff’s deputy and a suspect have died following a gunfight early Sunday inside a mobile home that also left a second deputy injured, authorities said.

Howard County Deputy Carl Koontz died at an Indianapolis hospital after being shot about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at a mobile home in Russiaville, Sheriff Steven Rogers said during a news conference Sunday afternoon outside of an Indianapolis hospital.

A second deputy, Sgt. Jordan Buckley, also was shot and was in stable condition, alert and conscious, Indiana State Police said. Both officers had been wearing body armor, and fellow officers took them out of the mobile home to provide first aid.

“Investigators had learned a suspect wanted for possession of a syringe in neighboring Clinton County was hiding at the mobile home and obtained the warrants,” Rogers said.

Koontz was just 27 years old. His body was returned to Howard County and a long police procession began on Monday around 3pm in Indianapolis to transport his body. Hundreds of people along the procession route showed up on the sides of the road to pay their respects.

According to an autopsy, the suspect, Evan Dorsey, 25, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Now, there is no question, as far as I know, that Dorsey shot Deputy Koontz. There is also no question that the deputies were serving an arrest warrant. However, the bigger question is what they were arresting Dorsey for and on what basis.

Even Biblical law does not have a penalty for those engaging in alleged “drug use.” It does, however, deal with those who engage in witchcraft and use drugs or other substances in the midst of that, which is a violation of the First Commandment. It’s a pretty severe penalty (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:27).

However, as I’ve explained previously, there is really a need to speak about the lawfulness, or rather the unlawfulness, of the “war on drugs.” We need to rid ourselves of the propaganda that the media and law enforcement have placed on us and start to consider the consequences and the violation of the Bill of Rights through no-knock raids and other unconstitutional searches and seizures due to the ridiculous and failing “war on drugs.”

My heart goes out to the family of Deputy Koontz. It also goes out to the family of Mr. Dorsey, who was apparently harming no one in the mobile home until cornered based on the fact that he was armed earlier with a syringe.

Is this really how we want to handle these things America?
