State Dept. Releases Intl. Religious Freedom Report While Exhibiting Hypocrisy Here at Home

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble; and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. – Amendment 1, Constitution for the united States of America, ratified 12/15/1791.

While Congress has not enacted any law affecting the individual’s God-given rights recognized by the First Amendment, American’s have seen in recent years the government’s abuse of power against Christian business owners when it comes to participating in services that would violate their faith. It goes the same for the ability to speak freely as political correctness, over-sensitivity, and outcries of “offensiveness” have given rise to “free speech zones” thereby creating an atmosphere of oppression against opinions falling outside the government-assigned viewpoint. In attempting to petition the government for a redress of grievances through peaceful protest at a wildlife refuge in Oregon, LaVoy Finicum died from gunshot wounds sustained at the hands of government suppressors. No one can turn on the television news or read a news publication considered “mainstream media” without seeing the handiwork of government shills directing the information relayed to the general public that contains a slant toward a liberal/progressive/socialist/communist type ideology.

Yet, the government that is busy whacking away at the First Amendment of the Constitution for the united States of America chastised other countries over their religious freedom abuses.

Last week, the US State Department released its 2015 International Religious Freedom Report. As usual, the annual report listed offenders where religious freedoms are at their worst. The same top offenders of China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and North Korea remained unchanged.

Speaking at the release of the report on Wednesday, Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated, “No nation can fulfill its potential if its people are denied the right to freely choose and openly practice their faith.”

No, it’s not a mistake. But, have not the citizenry become accustomed to the hypocrisy of this administration, the political elite, and those behind the scenes controlling the politicians? Yes, we have; and, we have to the point of brushing it off as the “SS/DD” activity carried out by this administration. No, the conditions here in the united States are nowhere near the severity of these other nations. However, the path to oppression is taken one step at a time – small and minor at first, but incrementally increasing as the population steps back at each push.

According to CBN News:

The document also noted violations by terrorist groups like Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, and ISIS, which the State Department singled out earlier this year for committing genocide, crimes against humanity, and ethnic cleansing against Kurds, Christians, and Yazidis.

“Naming these crimes is important, but our goal is to stop them,” Blinken stated.

How long has the united States been “in conflict” with Al Qaeda, ISIS, and Boko Haram? It’s been years with ISIS and quite a while with Al Qaeda. If our goal is to “stop them” – meaning the crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity, well, the united States government has done a p*** poor job against curbing the groups responsible. In fact, our government imports unvetted illegal alien Muslims from these areas without knowing where they originally were citizens, who is or is not a terrorist, and their background relating to criminal activity.

Continuing on, CBN News reported:

The report also addressed religious freedom in India under the first year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose record on human rights has come under fire.

India, by law, is a secular state and its constitution protects freedom of religion.

Yet, the report cites nearly 200 incidents of “violence, harassment, or discrimination across the country targeting Christians” reported by the Evangelical Fellowship of India. Those attacks included assaults on missionaries as well as churches, schools, and private property.

“Shining light on the problems are the best way to address them,” said David Saperstein, Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom at the State Department.

The report paid special attention to blasphemy and apostasy laws, which about a quarter of the world’s countries have instituted ostensibly to protect religious sentiments from defamation.

The harsh reality is those very same laws are often used to intimidate or repress religious minorities and to suppress dissent or political rivals.

The report highlighted Vietnam has having improved on its implementation of religious freedom. No critical reforms have been undertaken there. However, the report indicated a gradual expanse of religious freedom.

Information on two new appointed positions in the European Commission were included – one to combat anti-Semitism and another to challenge anti-Muslim sentiments.

Where is the appointed position to challenge/combat anti-Christian sentiments or any other religion, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.? There is not one as that would mean having to confront Muslims and Islam over their beliefs they and their “religion” (using the term loosely) are superior to all others in every way. While the report acknowledges genocide of Christians and other groups, no position is included in the European Commission to combat sentiments against them. In other words, the world is being told, “we recognize the genocide against Christians and other religious groups but it’s more important that we focus on anti-Muslim sentiments when Muslims are committing the crimes against other religions.”

Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Soebarkah said it best when he proclaimed that the world should not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam (paraphrasing here).

It’s another song and dance by individuals in this administration to appear to be doing something when they frequently are doing nothing but stumping for Islam and Muslims. These individuals have not ever stopped to think about “why” anti-Muslim and anti-Islam sentiments exist in the first place. No one ever points the finger to Muslims and Islam to say, “Hey, if ya’ll weren’t beheading folks, taking slaves, being misogynistic, and trying to exert supremacy over others then play the victim, maybe people might, and that is might, not have such a harsh attitude towards you.”

No one who holds a position in any Western nation points the finger toward Muslims and Islam and says, “You know, there is nothing wrong with practicing your religion but you are not allowed to violate our laws to do it or try to force your laws on everyone else.”

No one says to Muslims and practitioners of Islam, “If you denounced what these groups are doing in the Middle East and elsewhere, instead of remaining silent and playing victim, while truly being sincere in your denunciation, folks might not be so quick to criticize. And, while this subject is being discussed, folks might be a little more accepting if you assimilated into the established societies, instead of trying to force your Sharia on the population since Sharia conflicts with our laws.”

But, that is not what happens. It is other religions who are “expected” to tolerate Islam when receiving nothing but intolerance from Islam. Citizens of all nations are told to “appease” Muslims to prevent violence, instead of demanding Muslims adhere and abide by laws recognizing and protecting freedom of speech, religion, the press and assembly. Others are told to “step back” as the push is on to stifle freedoms using the crux of “offensiveness” regarding Islam and Muslims.

It is displays of public hypocrisy and the audacity of those in the US federal government to champion religious freedom outside our borders while working to remove any semblance of Christianity from the public sphere here at home. The federal government brings its hammer to bear down on Christian business owners practicing their beliefs while overlooking Muslim and secular business owners who are practicing theirs in the open square. Accommodations are made for Muslims in public venues for “foot washing stations and prayer facilities” while Christians and others are shoved to the curb.

In looking at the practice of this administration and the policies adopted, the writing is on the wall. Despite the First Amendment of our Constitution, the decree has been issued and all are expected to comply with the limitations on rights recognized as protected under it or face the full power of the government. All the while, the government expects citizens here to back their “fight” against religious oppression around the globe. Go figure.
