Christians that are paying attention have noticed the trend in our nation.
Over the last two years, I have reported on the assault by the LBGT Political Arm and the Left against the church. Those who are opposed to the agenda of the homosexual is soon under the legal attack on their freedom of religion.
Now, we find that things have gone as far as to see the Supreme Court refuse to hear such cases. For this reason, one of its justices has stated that our religious freedom is the most in danger of being lost.
Christian News reports:
During a recent speech in Washington for the national lawyer’s convention of the Federalist Society, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito opined that religious freedom might be “in greater danger” than the right to free speech.
Alito pointed to a case out of Washington State that was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, in which the owner of a pharmacy was required to stock the morning-after pill despite his religious convictions regarding abortifacients.
As I reported, the State of Washington enacted a regulation requiring all pharmacies to carry and sale a drug that causes women to miscarry. Many call these drugs the morning after pill. One pharmacist was sued for refusing.
Now, it seems clear that the regulation and the lawsuit were aimed at Christians specifically. But, the Supreme Court had no time to adjudicate the case.
Christian News continues:
“[N]ational and local pharmacist’s associations submitted an amicus brief telling us that this practice of referring customers to other pharmacies is standard, because no pharmacy can possibly stock every single drug that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration,” Alito noted in his speech to the Federalist Society this month.
“In this case, there is strong evidence that the law was enacted to rid the state of those troublesome pharmacists who objected to these drugs on religious grounds,” he told those gathered, “but the Ninth Circuit sustained the law, and the Supreme Court did not even think that case deserved review.”
And you can bet that if this sort of persecution is not stopped, It will only escalate.
