Texas to Pass Bill to Protect Clergy Who Refuse to Perform Sodomite Union

As we watch the fight for “marriage equality,” or sodomite unions, it is hard not to see the way the road is curving.  If we look, we can easily see where this is going to take us in the end.  It should also be very clear that this is not by mistake or consequences.  This road is meant by the sodomites to lead us straight to the Church.  So, Texas senators are seeking to preempt the effects on the clergy.

Christian News reports:

The Texas Senate has approved a bill that would protect pastors from legal action if they refuse to officiate same-sex ceremonies.

Sen. Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls) presented S.B. 2065, entitled “Freedom of Religion with Respect to Recognizing or Performing Certain Marriages.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This is a good thing, from the standpoint of something is better than nothing.  Nothing would be the hope that this would never be needed.  The hope that such legislation would never come into play in any situation, but this would also be a pipe-dream at best.  But if we think that this will ban litigation or even federal prosecution of the clergy, we only have to ask about the constitutional amendment Texas and forty or so other states passed banning the redefinition of marriage to include sodomy.

This is what it says it will do:

“A religious organization, an organization supervised or controlled by or in connection with a religious organization, an individual employed by a religious organization while acting in the scope of that employment, or a clergy or minister may not be required to solemnize any marriage, provide services, accommodations, facilities, goods, or privileges for a purpose related to the solemnization, formation, or celebration of any marriage, or treat any marriage as valid for any purpose if the action would cause the organization or individual to violate a sincerely held religious belief.”

The bill is also meant to protect religious institutions.

“A refusal to provide services, accommodations, facilities, goods, or privileges [under this law] is not the basis for a civil or criminal cause of action or any other action by this state or a political subdivision of this state to penalize or withhold benefits or privileges, including tax exemptions or governmental contracts, grants, or licenses, from any protected organization or individual.”

The problem that the states have found themselves in is that of power and jurisdiction.  They have sold their power and jurisdiction for roads and schools.  They have given the right to deny the federal government away, and so if the federal government decides to prosecute a preacher, there is nothing that Texas or any other state can or will do.

This is the real reason that the War Between the States was fought, and this is the outcome!  Absolute power rested in a central government.  God help us.
