Thousands of “Rolling Thunder” Bikers Roar Through Capital to Honor American POWs & Those Killed in Service
GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed a crowd of people from in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Many of those were the thousands of Rolling Thunder bikers who rode through the streets of Washington DC to honor America’s POWs and remember those who were killed in serving their country as part of Memorial Day 2016 activities.
The event is held annually and was first organized in 1988, and had approximately 2,500 motorcycles and riders. The goal was to demand that the US government account for all POW/MIAs and has continued to grow ever since.

The Rolling Thunder Run mission has been to educate, facilitate, and never forget by means of a demonstration for service members that were abandoned after the Vietnam War.
The weekend events included a Friday evening candlelight vigil at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and then continues through Monday evening.
Thousands of bikers began their rally near the Pentagon, and crossed over the Potomac River, ending at the Lincoln Memorial, where Donald Trump addressed the group that has become increasingly frustrated with both the Obama administration and sellout representatives.

Trump addressed the group and said that illegal immigrants are treated better than many of our veterans.
“In many cases, illegal immigrants are taken much better care by this country than our veterans, and that’s not going to happen,” Trump said. “Thousands of people are dying . . . our vets, our most cherished people. Thousands of people are dying waiting in line to see a doctor. That is not going to happen anymore.”
He then reiterated his plans to build the wall across the southern border at the expense of Mexico in an attempt to keep people from entering into the US illegally.
“Who’s going to pay for the wall?” he asked.
“Mexico!” the crowd retorted.
“Not even a doubt!” he replied.
While some members of Rolling Thunder were angry about Trump’s comments last year about John “Songbird” McCain not being a war hero because he was captured, it appears that many of those in attendance received him rather warmly. Personally, I agree with Theodore Shoebat that John McCain has demonstrated that he is a traitor, not a war here, to the united States of America.
It’s good to see that those who have served continue to bring remembrance of those that continue to languish in prisons around the world and those who have sacrificed their lives. May their voices be heard loud and clear this Memorial Day!
