UN Gets It’s Resolution to Rescind Trump’s Recognition of Jerusalem as Capital of Israel Vetoed!

On Monday, the united States vetoed the totalitarian organization known as the United Nations’ resolution that sought to rescind President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US embassy to the historic city.

I really do wonder why we are even a part of this miserable anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-Christian organization in the first place.  I mean, say the resolution passed, what difference would it make?  Isn’t like we have to listen to the UN in the first place, right?

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“What we witnessed here today in the Security Council is an insult,” said UN ambassador Nikki Haley.  “It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the United Nations doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Today, for the simple act of where to put our embassy, the United States was forced to defend its sovereignty. The record will reflect that we did so proudly.”

 Breitbart reports:

The U.S. on Monday vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution seeking to reaffirm Jerusalem’s status as unresolved despite President Trump’s declaration earlier this month that the city is Israel’s capital.

While not specifically mentioning Trump’s Jerusalem decision, today’s resolution stated “decisions and actions which purport to have altered the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded.”

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley called the Egyptian-drafted resolution an “insult,” maintaining  that “the United States will not be told by any country where to put our embassy.”

“It’s scandalous to say we are putting back peace efforts,” Haley added. “What does it gain the Palestinians to put roadblocks to negotiations?”

“A peace process that denies Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is not a peace process.”

Haley went on to say, ‘We do it with no joy, but we do it with no reluctance.  The fact that this veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of America’s role in the Middle East peace process, is not a source of embarrassment for us. It should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council.”

Her comments were met with appreciation by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Thank you, Ambassador Haley. On Hanukkah, you spoke like a Maccabi. You lit a candle of truth. You dispel the darkness. One defeated the many. Truth defeated lies. Thank you, President Trump. Thank you, @nikkihaley.” he tweeted.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon blasted the resolution, saying “members of the Security Council can vote another hundred times to criticize our presence in Jerusalem, but history won’t change.”

“While the Jewish people celebrate the holiday of Hanukkah that symbolizes the eternal connection to Jerusalem, there are people who think that they can rewrite history,” he said.  “It’s time for all countries to recognize that Jerusalem always was and always will be the capital of the Jewish people and the capital of Israel.”

Mr. Danon then pointed out the double standard that the UN was imposing upon Israel.

“Each country has the right to establish its own capital, but when it comes to Israel, there are people who think that they can cast doubt on our decision,” he said.  “We are grateful to the U.S. for its steadfastness in standing with the State of Israel, and the truth.”

The UN put forth a series of resolutions against Israel just one year ago.

Frankly, Nikki Haley should have got up after the vote, took her shoes off, slapped the dust off of them on a UN table and said, “We won’t be back and we’re not sending you guys any more money.  The eviction notice to depart US soil will be forthcoming.”

Now, that would have been a real Christmas gift to America.
