US Seeks to Revoke Citizenship of a Terror-tied Oregon Imam Mohamed Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye

For years, I have been calling on law enforcement and the FBI to pay closer attention to the mosques. They present a clear and present danger. Most recently, we see all of the now-weekly jihad attacks tied to mosques.

In the wake of the Boston Marathon jihad bombing, AFDI issued an 18-point platform in defense of freedom, calling for the monitoring of mosques and their closure if jihad, hatred of America and Israel, and/or the violent quranic verses were promoted.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A colleague of mine nailed it when he wrote to me, “What the Left/Islamic apologists and even Republicans in the main do not understand is this Imam was not fighting in Afghanistan as a friend of the West and foe of the Soviet Union. He was engaged in fulfilling his obligation to enlist to support a defensive jihad based upon his commitment to Sharia/the Umma.  And, the war AQ and now others bring against the US, both kinetic and otherwise, can easily be justified via usul al fiqh as a defensive jihad and thus obligatory—and thus not requiring any reliance upon the jurisprudential requirements under Sharia to engage in offensive jihad (which most ulema posit requires a legitimate Caliph) and the concomitant disputations about the status of AQ or IS as true Caliphates.

“Bottomline: no one will even ask of this imam’s commitment to sharia and what that means….”

US authorities allege Oregon imam assisted radicals, FOX News, July 21, 2015 (thanks to DY)

U.S. authorities are seeking to revoke the citizenship of an Oregon imam who they say tried to conceal past associations with radical Islamic groups.

Mohamed Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye raised money, recruited fighters and provided training for insurgent groups battling Soviet forces in Afghanistan in the 1980s, the U.S. Department of Justice says in a complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

Kariye was one of more than a dozen people who filed a lawsuit challenging the no-fly list, winning last year a court order saying the government must provide information about why people are on the list.

The immigration complaint does not include criminal charges. Government lawyers say Kariye for a time “dealt directly” with Usama bin Laden and Abdullah Azzam, the founders of Al Qaeda, and he recruited sympathizers in the United States and Pakistan for an Al Qaeda precursor known as Maktab Al-Khidamat.
Kariye is also accused of being a founding officer and director of the now-defunct Global Relief Foundation, which authorities say provided assistance to terror groups including Al Qaeda and promoted radical jihad.

Federal authorities say Kariye failed to reveal those details in his application for citizenship, which was granted in 1998.
