Alleged Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock’s younger brother Bruce Paddock was taken into custody on Wednesday morning from a nursing home in North Hollywood on suspicion of crimes related to child pornography.

Police say the shooting and Bruce Paddock’s arrest are not related.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Los Angeles Times reports:

Documents filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court outlined 20 criminal charges against Paddock, all related to possession of child pornography or the sexual exploitation of children. The felony complaint for the arrest warrant accused Paddock of having more than 600 pornographic images of children or youths, including 10 or more images showing a child younger than 12.

The investigation of Paddock began after evidence was found in a Sun Valley business where he had been squatting, the LAPD said in a statement. The evidence was found after Paddock was evicted, police said.

Paddock was homeless at the time and couldn’t be found, the LAPD said, adding that investigations “recently” tracked him to the North Hollywood facility where he was arrested Wednesday.

The LAPD released a photo of Paddock “in case there may be victims of unreported incidents,” who might see it and contact authorities, the department said.

Josh Rubenstein, an LAPD spokesman, said Paddock’s arrest was the result of an independent investigation by the LAPD and not related to the deadly shooting rampage in Las Vegas. The LAPD’s case began before the shooting, he added.

“There’s no connection,” he said.

As if things couldn’t get any more weird!

Both Paddock’s are the sons of Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, was a convicted bank robber who was once placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Bruce Paddock has a lengthy record of run-ins with the law over the last 25 years, according to Los Angeles County criminal records.

  • 1989 – He was charged with assault and battery and criminal contempt of court – charges were later dismissed.
  • 1993 – He was charged with annoying a child under 18 but was acquitted.
  • Between 1994 and 1995 – prosecutors accused Paddock of various property crimes and driving without a license. He twice pleaded no contest to driving on a suspended license and to tampering with a vehicle.
  • Recently, he was charged with burglary and petty theft while having a previous conviction. He pleaded no contest to petty theft and the burglary charge was dismissed.
  • In separate cases in 2005 and 2006, Paddock was charged with making verbal threats, vandalism and arson. He was convicted of making threats and vandalism but the arson charges were dismissed.
  • He was convicted of criminal contempt of court in 2007.
  • Paddock pleaded no contest to vandalism in 2014.

Meanwhile, in the investigation into the Vegas shooting a laptop hard drive has gone missing from Stephen Paddock’s computer.

ABC News reports:

A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.

Add Las Vegas Shooting as an interest to stay up to date on the latest Las Vegas Shooting news, video, and analysis from ABC News.

Paddock is believed to have removed the hard drive before fatally shooting himself, and the missing device has not yet been recovered, sources told ABC News.

Investigators digging into Paddock’s background also learned he purchased software designed to erase files from a hard drive, but without the hard drive to examine it is impossible to know if he ever used the software, one source said.

The absence of substantial digital clues has left investigators struggling to piece together what triggered Paddock to kill 58 innocent concertgoers and injure more than 500 others on Oct. 1.

While investigators claim they are clueless about the Vegas shooting, they ignore the claims of the Islamic State, who have never claimed they were a part of an attack they were not tied.  They certainly aren’t dealing with the issues of negligence of the Mandalay Bay hotel, which recently banned an investigator for merely showing the public the lack of security in the hotel, except when it comes to pointing out said lack of security.

I find it interesting that Paddock’s brother is now being charged with possessing child porn at this time.  What do you think?
