Wikileaks: Bill Clinton Gave $500,000 Speech in Moscow as Hillary Opposed Russian Sanctions

Democrats in DC are simply playing the hypocrite in their continued press to find evidence of Russian collusion with the Trump administration while ignoring the Russian ties of the Clinton crime family.  The latest come as former President Bill Clinton gave a $500,000 speech to a Moscow-based financial firm, while his wife, Hillary, began opposing Russian sanctions, according to emails published by Wikileaks.

The Magnitsky Act, which is the sanctions bill passed in 2012 that imposes sanctions on Russian human rights abusers, was opposed by not only Clinton but the Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, the woman who was in the country illegally under Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah and met with Donald Trump, Jr.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Washington Post provides some background to the Magnitsky Act.

The origin

The law is named after Sergei Magnitsky, a Russian lawyer and auditor who in 2008 untangled a dense web of tax fraud and graft involving 23 companies and a total of $230 million linked to the Kremlin and individuals close to the government. Magnitsky was the target of investigations, arrested by authorities and kept in jail without charges. He was beaten and later died under mysterious circumstances in jail just days before his possible release.

Independent investigators found “inhuman detention conditions, the isolation from his family, the lack of regular access to his lawyers and the intentional refusal to provide adequate medical assistance resulted in the deliberate infliction of severe pain and suffering, and ultimately his death.”

The law

The Magnitsky Act was signed by President Barack Obama in December 2012 as a retaliation against the human rights abuses suffered by Magnitsky. The law at first blocked 18 Russian government officials and businessmen from entering the United States, froze any assets held by U.S. banks and banned their future use of U.S. banking systems. The act was expanded in 2016, and now sanctions apply to 44 suspected human rights abusers worldwide.

Its official title is a mouthful — the Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal and Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012. In most news stories and accounts, the shorthand is simply — the Magnitsky Act.

Bill Browder, an American hedge fund manager who hired Magnitsky for the corruption investigation that eventually led to his death, was a central figure in the bill’s passage.

The Trump administration has tried to deflect attention away from Trump Jr’s meeting with Veselnitskaya and pointed to not only her being in the country illegally, but also pointed to Bill’s Clinton’s profitable Moscow speech and his wife’s siding with Russia in opposing the sanctions.

“If you want to talk about having relationships with Russia, I’d look no further than the Clintons,” Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a mid-July press briefing. “Bill Clinton was paid half a million dollars to give a speech to a Russian bank, personally thanked by President Putin.”

Jack Crowe points out that all of this shows the hypocrisy of the Democrats in Congress who are on a witch hunt after alleged Russian collusions, but are purposefully ignoring the actual colluders, namely the Clintons.

In 2010, in the middle of a congressional effort to pass the Magnitsky Act, then-Secretary of State Clinton denied requests from lawmakers to refuse visas to the Russian human rights violators implicated in the bill. The Obama administration was opposed to the bill because they believed it would negatively effect the “reset” in relations then-President Barack Obama was seeking with Russia.

Notably, the very same Renaissance Capital executives who paid Bill $500,000 for the June 29, 2010, speech, would have been barred from entering the U.S. under the law Hillary opposed.

This suspect timeline caught the attention of Bloomberg News in 2015. Emails released by Wikileaks indicate Bloomberg was preparing to run a story on Clinton’s sanctions opposition, but her campaign team interceded and somehow prevented the story from going to print.

“With the help of the research team, we killed a Bloomberg story trying to link HRC’s opposition to the Magnitsky bill to a $500,000 speech that WJC [Bill Clinton] gave in Moscow,” Jesse Lehrich, on the Rapid Response Communications team for Hillary For America wrote in a May 21, 2015, email.
