Should We Question Obama’s Faith? Absolutely!

2012 Presidential candidate Rick Santorum said during the 2012 GOP primaries, “Obama’s agenda is based on some phony theology, not a theology based on the Bible… a different theology.” Later, he suggested that the president practices a different kind of Christianity.

Following Santorum’s comments, Robert Gibbs, former adviser to President Barack Obama, said that Santorum went well over the line when he questioned Obama’s Christian values. Gibbs went on and told ABC News, “It’s time to get rid of this mindset in our politics that if we disagree, we have to question character and faith.” (Keep in mind that President Obama has attacked the faith of the Christian Church.)

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Well, Mr. Gibbs, what happened to Obama’s declaration that “transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency”? To whom do you think you’re talking, Mr. Gibbs? Some paid scoundrel in Obama’s administration? You are talking to Americans who have been eating the fruit of Obama’s unlawful and un-Christian administration since his first day in office.

A man in private and a man in public are one and the same. Obama’s faith is an expression of who he is and what it is that he does. The act cannot be apart from the actor. After all, Obama is the one who said, “Faith is not just something you have, it’s something you do.”

You can always tell if a stick is crooked by laying a straight one next to it. In the same way, you can tell if someone is acting unlawfully or unconstitutionally by weighing his actions next to the Constitution. You can also measure a man’s Christianity by judging him according to his fruit, the way that Jesus commanded the church to do, which is the same way you do a tree when it bears its fruit (Matthew 7:20).

Mr. Gibbs must be suggesting that our forefathers were way off base when resisting a tyrant named King George. After all, it was our forefathers who coined the phrase, “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God” (Ben Franklin).

Nowhere in Scripture can you find God commanding His people to subject themselves to decrees that run contrary to His will. What? Obey a tyrant and disobey God? It doesn’t work that way in America.

When we look at history, we can see many tyrants and dictators used their pretended conversion to control and put to sleep the Christians, to conquer them by use of the Cross. They might look, act and talk like a Christian, at least publicly, all in hopes that the people would not judge them by the fruit they bore. The sad fact is that it works for some because the people accept what the tyrants say instead of judging what they do.

Remember, nobody rebuked hypocrites more than Jesus Christ. So, I say, question the president’s faith. It is your job to do so, because clearly it doesn’t line up.
