Joanna Palani, a 23-year-old from Denmark, went to fight in Syria “for human rights for all people” against ISIS. When she returned to Denmark, her passport was seized by police under a new “foreign fighter” law passed to prevent Danes from joining terrorist groups.
Then, they learned her story.
She rescued girls from sex-trafficking, including an 11-year-old girl pregnant with twins.
