The first rule of anti-racism is it can’t be racist if anti-racists do it.
Firing anti-racists is obviously racist. Since everything (in anti-racist theology) is either racist or anti-racist, firing anti-racists must be by the binary process of elimination, racist. But wait, what happens when the Center for Antiracist Research under the anti-racist leadership of Ibram X. Kendi fires anti-racists?
Then firing anti-racists becomes an anti-racist act.
Because the first rule of anti-racism is it can’t be racist if anti-racists do it.
The Boston University Center for Antiracist Research is firing between 15 and 20 employees, Semafor reported Thursday. Kendi launched the center in June 2020 at the height of the movement to defund police in the wake of the death of George Floyd. It employed 45 people as of August, according to a since-deleted page on the center’s website reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
Anti-racists may just not be good at managing money because of the inherent racism of numbers.
Two years ago, facing a sea of reporters, Jeff Bezos praised Van Jones as an extraordinary philanthropic leader, handing the CNN commentator a $100 million blank check to distribute as he saw fit.
Jones looked down, his eyes seemingly misty. “Sometimes, dreams come true,” he said.
This summer, Jones left the board of one of his principal nonprofits, Dream.org, after tussling with the group’s leadership over its direction, multiple sources with ties to the organization told The Daily Beast. According to a person with direct knowledge of the situation, he did not leave by choice.
The turmoil has not affected just Jones, nine former employees said. One Dream subsidiary, an environmental advocacy initiative called Green For All, has been laying off staffers—even though Bezos’ climate fund awarded it a separate three-year, $10 million grant in 2020. The group tore through that money with little to show for it, several ex-employees said. Bezos’ nonprofit has not renewed the grant.
“Quite a few people have questions about the fiscal stewardship that Dream.org has had,” said CeCe Grant, who worked for Dream for more than two years, most recently as director of government affairs until April.
It’s hard out there for an anti-racist. The ashes from BLM’s last race riots are cold and drag queens gyrating in front of kids have displaced gentle giant muggers being shot after innocently assaulting police officers as the new victim class. What’s an anti-racist gotta do to afford a new mansion (the old one was racist) ?
Some heads must roll. And if they must be anti-racist heads, so be it. Not all skinfolk are kinfolk and you gotta do what you gotta do. The racist mission of anti-racism must march forward.
Only when all the mansions are anti-racist (by being possessed by anti-racists) will we finally be free.
