The Conversion of President Andrew Jackson (Video)

“Mr. Cartright, You are a man after my own heart… If I had a few such independent fearless officers as you were… and a well-drilled Army, I could take old England.”

Last week on The Sons of Liberty radio program, I took the time to share with the people what the fruit of faithful preaching looks like, and what it brings forth.

When I brought up the conversion of President Andrew Jackson, the first thing that people began to do was attack him.  “He was a ‘warmonger’,” “Look what he did concerning the ‘Trail of Tears’,” and so on and so forth.  Quite frankly, it agitated me due to the fact of Andrew Jackson’s conversion.  Does not Jesus, when He gets a hold of the worst of us as sinners, make us the best of His saints?  Yes, this is what grace does.  Jesus saves us from our sins (Matthew 1:21).  Therefore, we should all rejoice that this president was saved.

I began to highlight the faithful preacher, Peter Cartwright, who loved Jackson enough to tell him what no one else had in the past (Matthew 3:2).  Because of this faithful preacher (Proverbs 27:5), President Andrew Jackson was soundly saved.
